Chapter 314 The Flowers Your Boyfriend Sent You
"Natalie, I made some cookies yesterday. Want to take some to share with your colleagues?" Rosalie asked, smiling, as she walked out with a box of cookies. She noticed Natalie standing in the foyer, holding a poster.
Rosalie hurried over, a bit hesitant. "I saw this phone and thought it was nice, so I bought it for you."
Natalie looked up, surprised. "For me? Mom, this is expensive. Why did you buy it?"
Rosalie explained, "Natalie, your phone is old and lags. The store clerk said this one is great. You deserve the best."
Natalie replied, "I'm fine with my current phone. As long as it makes calls, it's good enough. We should save money for the move."
She looked at the poster in her hand, crumpled it, and threw it in the trash.
Rosalie gasped, "Natalie, why did you throw it away?"
"Mom, should I stick it up at home? We'd have nightmares. If you like the phone, you use it. I have to go."
After Natalie left, Rosalie shook her head, picked the poster out of the trash, and sighed as she smoothed it out. Alice's face, with her sweet smile, was now covered in creases.
Imperial Nightclub
"Natalie, you're here. These flowers are for you."
Natalie had just passed the front desk when the receptionist called out. She stopped.
Receptionist Lisa Hall handed over a bouquet. "Red roses. Did you get a boyfriend?"
Natalie smiled. "No way, who sent them?"
She looked at the card. It was from Daniel. She didn't expect him to send flowers here. The flowers at Blue Mountain Community were probably from him too.
Natalie walked towards the elevator with the flowers.
Behind her, two receptionists whispered.
"Flowers from Nineteen Stories shop are expensive. Those are imported red roses. Natalie's boyfriend must be wealthy."
"Natalie is beautiful. Lots of men are after her. I heard she's been acting recently, introduced by Manager Nicholson. She might become a star."
"Really?"
"Shh, keep it down. Of course, it's true."
"Manager Nicholson treats her well. Working under Manager Nicholson at Imperial Nightclub is quite relaxing. I heard this week, Manager Nicholson got the VIP rooms on the 6th floor. The revenue this month is good. Manager Kroger isn't doing as well, stuck on the first and second floors for two weeks now."
"Shh, Manager Kroger is here."
Emma, in sunglasses and a stunning red suit, walked by in high heels. Employees either lowered their heads or greeted her as Manager Kroger.
Her hearing was excellent. From a distance, she heard the two receptionists talking about her.
But they were just receptionists, so she didn't scold them. This time, she indeed lost to Melody. She had been at Imperial Nightclub for six years, always overshadowed by Melody. Emma glanced at the receptionists and walked away in her high heels.
The two receptionists sighed in relief.
Natalie waited two minutes for the elevator. When the doors finally opened, Winter Bennett stepped out with a tray. "Natalie, you're here early. Don't you have the afternoon off?"
"Covering for Denise," Natalie replied and stepped aside to let people out before she walked in.
As the elevator doors were about to close, she heard footsteps and pressed the open button.
Emma walked over, her eyes behind the sunglasses falling on the bouquet of roses in Natalie's arms. Her voice, already sharp, became even more piercing as she smiled. "Natalie, did your boyfriend send you those flowers?"
