Chapter 443 Want to Marry Him

Heather tentatively asked a question, "Natalie, you really got a boyfriend or what?"

Right on cue, Natalie's phone buzzed on the coffee table. Adrian's name flashed on the screen.

Heather's eyes darted to the phone, catching "Mr. Howard" on display.

Natalie shot Heather an apologetic smile before picking up. "Hey."

"Lunch?" Natalie glanced at the clock. "Sure, I'll be there soon."

She chuckled softly. "No need to pick me up, I'll get there myself. I'm at Dynamic Entertainment Media."

After hanging up, Natalie stood. "Sorry, Heather, gotta bounce. Hit me up if you need anything. I'll always answer." She grabbed her coat. "About my boyfriend, we’ll chat later."

Heather watched Natalie leave, letting out a sigh.

She immediately hit up a few scriptwriters, diving into their work. She had to plan right for Natalie, pick the best scripts, and nail those business deals to keep Natalie's trust.

It sucked that such a talented actress had such crappy opportunities.

But Heather was sure that in five years, Natalie would be a star.

A gem, even covered in dirt, still shines the brightest.

Soft tunes played in the restaurant.

Natalie walked in, spotting Adrian already there. "Sorry, I'm late."

Adrian smiled, "Just got here myself."

The waiter handed them menus.

Natalie skimmed it and ordered a steak and fruit salad.

The food came out quick, with a bonus fresh juice on the house.

Adrian said, "I gotta head to Verono this Saturday, be there for about a week." He looked at her, eyes soft under the light. "Your next film is set. Victoria's new movie got postponed, so you're on a mystery film with a great team."

To be real, it was a team he handpicked.

The director, Oscar Stewart, was a big shot in mystery films, known for nailing the plot. The original author, Timothy Sanchez, had his last book sell 7 million copies. His new project was already hyped.

The screenwriter, Matthew Edwards, was Oscar's long-time buddy, one of the top female screenwriters in the country, with a decade of teamwork with Oscar.

This crew was top-notch.

Natalie said, "Didn't you say I could pick my own projects?"

Adrian looked at her. "Natalie, I'm giving you the best to make you a star. No need to climb slowly. I want you to have the best."

Natalie asked, "The best?"

She looked at Adrian, seeing the confidence in his eyes, but felt a twinge of bitterness. The more time she spent with Adrian, the more she felt it. She wanted to climb up from supporting roles, but he wanted to fast-track her to the top. She should be thrilled, but she couldn't muster a smile.

Adrian looked puzzled, "You don't like it?"

Natalie smiled. "I do."

Truth was, she didn't hate it. Getting good gigs made her happy too.

Natalie wasn't one to fake it.

But she knew Adrian couldn't give her what she really wanted - to marry him, and only him.
