Chapter 957 Win-Win

Natalie handed over the microphone with a grin and turned to sign the autograph board.

Rebecca didn't see that question coming her way.

But, being the boss and all, she knew the media was buzzing about the new spokesperson. Saying something now would put Wendy in a tough spot.

After all, Wendy ever showed Rebecca any respect.

After Rebecca announced the new spokesperson, Wendy went on a spree, spreading negative press about Natalie and U&M.

Rebecca, as the founder of U&M, showed up at the fashion gala in the latest tangerine dress from her line. She looked stunning, with a big skirt that screamed elegance and passion.

Her makeup was on point, and her carrot-colored lips made her look even more classy. She walked the red carpet, took the host's mic, and said, "About the spokesperson thing, no one knows better than me. I should've cleared this up earlier."

With cameras flashing, her diamond earrings sparkled. "Our only spokesperson for U&M is Natalie. There’s never been anyone else."

The host pressed on, "No one else? But I saw Wendy's promo photos. The ads were shot. That can't be fake, right?"

The red carpet event, which was pretty chill, suddenly got a lot more interesting because of this rumor, which was exactly what the host wanted.

Media folks were all over it.

Rebecca stayed cool, "You'd have to ask Wendy about that. She should know best. But for me, the spokesperson has always been Natalie. Working with her is a win-win; she's young, beautiful, and fits our brand perfectly." Right now, Natalie was someone Rebecca couldn't afford to upset, but with the Henderson and Lewis families being tight, she couldn't bash Wendy either.

Rebecca's words seemed harmless but confirmed Natalie as the spokesperson, subtly hinting that Wendy was too old for the role.

Many actresses around were secretly loving the drama.

Backstage, Wendy heard Rebecca's response and her face turned sour.

Wendy never liked Rebecca. But with the Henderson and Lewis families being close, she was always in Rebecca's shadow. She made a name for herself in the entertainment industry, while Rebecca started her own brand.

They were always in some kind of rivalry, both out in the open and behind the scenes.

The original spokesperson deal was supposed to be a win-win. Rebecca wanted Wendy's Best Actress title to give her brand some credibility, and Wendy wanted the brand's ads to boost her popularity.

But even with both sides trying to make it work, it was still a mess.

Mira said consolingly, "Wendy, I know you're mad, but this is a fashion gala. You can't show it. You're the finale on the red carpet, and the host will definitely ask you questions. I'll go handle it now."

Wendy shook her head. "This host, who started out with a talk show years ago, is sharp-tongued and loves to roast young actors and actresses, using them to build his own persona."
