Chapter 1320 Human Trafficking
"Didn't I tell you to quickly turn on the phone and clear the location?"
The bald shop owner, in pain, groaned, "A few friends came over, and we were playing poker in the backyard. I forgot."
Gino muttered a few words. When he stole these phones, he didn't realize the owners were wealthy; he always targeted ordinary people. He had never failed in all these years.
Gino then said, "You said a group of people were looking for me. Did you sell me out? That's really unethical."
"Do you think I had a choice? My arm was almost twisted off! Besides, didn't I inform you right away? Stop drinking and find a place to hide."
Gino had just left the barbecue joint, carrying a bottle of liquor, when he noticed a black car approaching from a distance. The high beams flashed, blinding him.
In that instant, he sobered up.
He remembered what was said on the phone; it must be this group of people.
Gino immediately turned and ran.
Ahead was a small path in a residential area. Callum got out of the car with his men and quickly gave chase.
About 15 minutes later, Gino was on his knees, hands tied behind his back. "I only stole a few phones. I sold them to a second-hand phone shop. Go ask them for it. I won't do it again, I swear. Please let me go. I'll change, I promise!"
"Do you remember this phone?" Natalie handed over Beatrix's phone.
Gino looked up and glanced at it. He hadn't expected that the ordinary-looking girl had such a powerful background. For a phone worth a few thousand dollars, five or six people had come to trouble him.
"That Saturday afternoon, there was a gathering. There were a lot of people, shoulder to shoulder. I just grabbed a few phones."
"Do you know where the owner of this phone is?"
"I don't know. I just passed by her during the gathering and took it from her pocket."
"What time?"
Gino thought for a moment and said, "It was starting to get dark but not completely. It should have been around 6 PM."
From 6 PM on Saturday, Beatrix and Rachel had been missing. Now it was Tuesday night.
That night, they didn't get any useful information.
But Beatrix and Rachel were likely still together. Both disappearing at the same time, Natalie was sure they had been kidnapped.
No one slept well that night.
Natalie couldn't focus on filming during the day and took a leave of absence.
Anouk called her, and Natalie told her about Rachel and Beatrix's kidnapping and disappearance.
Both of them immediately thought of the time they were kidnapped.
Girls need to be careful when going out. Natalie and Anouk were also kidnapped while traveling. Who knows what Beatrix and Rachel are going through now.
Anouk put aside her work, delegated her screenwriting tasks to her studio, and took a leave to help Natalie find Rachel and Beatrix.
But none of them were very familiar with Suncrest City. During the day, Adrian used his connections in Suncrest City and worked with the police to search for information.
Natalie called Milan.
Milan had extensive connections.
He also had acquaintances in Suncrest City.
But finding someone in a city is difficult and takes time.
Moreover, it didn't seem like a simple kidnapping; the kidnappers hadn't contacted them for ransom.
It was possible that it was an organization specializing in drugging young women and human trafficking.
