Chapter 167 Why Did He Save Her

Listening to Renee asking about Natalie, David felt the pain from his injuries intensify. He couldn't help but shiver, then shouted into the phone, "Renee, are you done? Is this the only reason you called me? I don't care about Mrs. Cullen or Ms. Cullen. Whether I have a girlfriend or not is none of your business! Agreeing to go on a blind date was already the most I could tolerate!! If you call me again to talk about these things, I will find someone to beat you up!!"

David thought, 'Renee really isn't afraid of getting me killed!'

Just the thought of Natalie now made him scared!

Renee felt a ringing in her ears, and David just hung up.

Had David gone crazy?

Renee looked up and saw Natalie staring at her.

Natalie mocked, "Got your answer? If everything's fine, you can leave, or do you want to cook here and let me leave?"

Renee turned and left. Seeing her like this, Natalie speculated that Adrian must have taught David and his fellow a lesson, and David didn't dare to speak out of turn.

But why did Adrian save her?

Was it just because of the call she had made in a panic?

Natalie felt a bit dizzy.

Her mind was in chaos. She recalled being held by strong arms, and looking at the blurry and dim light, Adrian's handsome and smooth jawline appeared. He was like a god suddenly descending from heaven and illuminating her.

The sound of boiling soup interrupted her thoughts. Natalie snapped back to reality, finished preparing the soup and lunch, then left the Cullen family.

Meanwhile, Alice, satisfied with the lunchbox in her hand, instructed the driver to head to the Howard Group.

The Howard Group building truly stood tall as one of the top buildings in Vachilit, even the building's exterior was made of blue diamond glass, giving it a luxurious appearance. Looking up, it seemed like a towering luxury item in Vachilit.

"Hello, do you have an appointment?" the receptionist at the Howard Group inquired, noticing Alice's luxurious attire, which was the latest Chanel spring collection of the year.

Alice raised her eyes. "Do I need an appointment?"

The two receptionists exchanged glances.

One of them politely smiled. "May I ask who you are?"

"Take a good look, I am Adrian's fiancée." Alice intentionally accentuated her not-so-prominent belly.

"Oh, Ms. Cullen." The receptionist immediately led Alice. "This way, please."

The elevator doors opened, and they arrived at the CEO's office on the 66th floor. Stepping forward, they saw Seraphina touching up her makeup at the desk to the left of the CEO's office. The receptionist introduced, "Seraphina, this is Mr. Howard's fiancée."

Seraphina closed her compact and glanced at Alice.

She remembered Alice.

She stood up immediately, taking the lunchbox from the receptionist. "Ms. Cullen, Mr. Howard is currently in a meeting with Herman Simmons. Please wait in the lounge for a moment."

About ten minutes later, Herman emerged from the office, looking displeased as if he had a disagreement with Adrian inside.

Herman was a cousin of Ruben's first wife and diligent in his work, but he was too conservative, especially regarding new products.

Seraphina entered and placed the lunchbox on the table, observing the scattered documents on the floor, indicating that Adrian had just lost his temper.

Under pressure, Seraphina said, "Mr. Howard, Ms. Cullen is here."

Adrian's eyes were filled with coldness. "Let her in."

Shortly after, Alice entered the office happily, her tone softened a bit as she spoke.
