Chapter 921 Avery's Compromise
On the other side, Vance got a message from Sandra.
Vance was scared of the Howard family. If they got involved, he knew he couldn't hold out.
Sandra had already blown off some steam, and Curtis had offered a hefty compensation and a great project.
Sandra and Vance talked it over and decided to let Alice off the hook.
Vance was about to call Curtis to tell him that if he paid up and apologized, they'd drop the lawsuit.
Just then, his assistant came over and said, "Mr. Hall, Mrs. Cullen is here. Should I let her in?"
Vance thought for a second. "Yeah, let her in."
He could name his price to Avery too.
Avery walked in quickly, her face perfectly made up, wearing a classy black and white tweed suit. She looked both professional and elegant, with a pearl necklace around her neck. Even though she was pushing 50, she was well-maintained, with tight skin and sharp features. The fine lines around her eyes just added to her charm.
The makeup didn't completely hide the red marks on her face, but it did a decent job.
Avery had a great figure, slim but curvy.
Standing in front of Vance, she said softly, "Mr. Hall, you know why I'm here. I hope you can drop the lawsuit and let my daughter go."
Vance looked at her face. "Sure."
Vance's wife, Gabriella, was pretty plain-looking and had really let herself go. She was a bit chubby when she was younger, but now she was downright heavy.
Coming home to her every day, Vance just couldn't get interested.
Avery could read men like a book.
Seeing Vance's look, she smiled inwardly, mocking the predictable nature of men.
Avery walked over, swaying her hips.
In the past, no matter how unreasonable Avery was, she would never do something like this.
She loved Curtis so much that she turned down all the men who chased her.
But now, after Curtis had slapped her, Avery just wanted to save Alice.
She turned around, closed the door, and walked back to Vance, taking off her coat.
Vance's eyes widened, and he got the message loud and clear.
He had already planned to let Alice go, but now, he couldn't resist the easy win.
Half an hour later, Vance pulled up his pants, and Avery got dressed.
Vance smiled and shook Avery's hand. "Don't worry. I'll call the lawyer right now and have him drop the lawsuit."
Avery was overjoyed and held Vance's hand. Alice was finally saved, and Avery felt relieved.
Alice walked out of the police station that night, hugging Avery and crying.
Back home, after eating and taking a bath, Alice lay on the bed and called Diana. Afraid Alice would go after Sandra again and get into more trouble, Diana quickly said, "It's best to just forget about it. The public is turning against you. Alice, just bear with it."
Although Alice was impulsive, she had learned her lesson and didn't dare to cause more trouble. She just wanted to vent a little. "Do I need you to remind me?"
