Chapter 763 Weak Willpower

When it came to business, Julian didn't mess around. "This is awesome. Gotta say, Natalie, you've got a sharp eye."

After dinner, Natalie inked the deal with Julian.

In the two years since Natalie jumped into the entertainment biz, she'd stashed away a decent chunk of change but barely splurged.

She hardly ever bought fancy clothes or bags, just the occasional book and some everyday stuff.

Natalie also had a few promo gigs, and the brands would hook her up with some freebies.

The biggest splurge Natalie had in the past two years was on Rosalie's surgery.

Thinking about Rosalie, Natalie felt a wave of calm. She wasn't as freaked out and shocked as she was when she first found out the truth.

Natalie asked Heather, all chill, "How's Rosalie doing lately?"

Natalie hadn't checked in on Rosalie for a while. But Heather got the lowdown from the caregiver every week.

Heather said, "Rosalie's kidneys are acting up, but she's been dodging treatment. Last month, a bunch of experts got together and said her sudden kidney issues were 'cause she stopped her meds cold turkey. She needs another kidney transplant, but if she keeps dodging treatment after that, it's a waste."

Natalie frowned. "Is Rosalie still in the hospital?"

Heather nodded.

Natalie said, "I wanna go to the hospital."

Heather didn't pry and turned to Yancy. "Take us to Sunset Valley Hospital."

Yancy didn't question Heather and Natalie's business. After giving Julian a nod, he went to get the car.

Once in the car, Yancy peeked at the rearview mirror. Natalie sat in the back, and even without makeup, she was a stunner. Not in a flashy way, but with a gentle yet sharp vibe, like a lotus flower in full bloom.

Heather sat next to Natalie, nodding along to whatever she said. When Natalie wanted to invest, Heather was right there with her. Heather was super sweet to Natalie.

Yancy felt a bit salty, even a tad jealous of a woman.

The car pulled up at the hospital entrance.

Yancy said, "I'll find a spot to park. You two go ahead and handle your stuff. Hit me up if you need anything."

Yancy watched them walk away. Seeing Heather holding Natalie's arm, he suddenly remembered what Heather had said, "Natalie is a good person, and so are you."

Today, Yancy met the person Heather kept talking about as the only good person besides him.

Natalie made her way to the nephrology inpatient department.

She headed to the doc's office to get the scoop on Rosalie's condition.

Rosalie's main doc wasn't there; another doc stepped in, "You must be Rosalie's daughter. You should know her deal. Eight years ago, her kidneys started acting up. Five years ago, both kidneys failed, so she needed constant dialysis. Two and a half years ago, she got a kidney transplant. Normally, this kidney should last ten years. The early issues are ‘cause Rosalie's will to live is weak. Basically, she hasn't been taking her meds regularly and hasn't been showing up for her check-ups."
