Chapter 611 "Good Intentions"
Natalie shot Heather a look and said, "Since Alice wants to play the hero, you stick around with her. Watch her take care of Rosalie every day, show off how 'kind-hearted' she is, and you can hype her up tomorrow. I'm beat. I'm hitting the sack."
Heather stifled a laugh. "Sure thing."
Alice gritted her teeth. "Natalie, what are you up to?"
Natalie smirked. "Ms. Cullen, I'd suggest you zip it. Don't you wanna put on a show? You're my 'good friend,' right? Here to take care of Rosalie for me. Since you're so eager, go ahead. Heather, make sure to get it all on camera and remind Ms. Cullen to mind her manners. If this goes online and she looks bad, it'll be obvious she's faking it. Can't have her reputation tanking, can we?"
"Don't worry, Natalie. I'll stick to Ms. Cullen like glue and keep her in check. Since she's your friend and doesn't have an agent, I'll be her half-agent. I'll make sure her scandals don't spread." Heather held up the camera, capturing Alice's every expression perfectly.
Alice watched Natalie walk away, her teeth grinding so hard they might break.
Heather chimed in, "Ms. Cullen, don't get mad. Here, I got a comb. Fix your messy hair, or it won't look good on camera. And change your pose. Yeah, put your fingers on the armrest. Look sad, or people might think you're celebrating."
Alice was too furious to speak.
She clenched her fists. "Enough, Heather. Do you think I can't get Dynamic Entertainment Media to fire you?"
Heather kept the camera steady. "Oh, I believe it. I'm shaking in my boots. But I got a 10-year contract with them. If they fire me without cause, they owe me ten times my salary. Plus, I can post videos of you online every day, showing everyone how 'kind' you are, taking care of your 'friend's' mom."
Heather's sarcastic tone made Alice's face twist even more, but with Heather filming, Alice was scared her video would really spread out. She wasn't sure if that bitch Natalie would actually do it.
Alice had seriously underestimated Natalie.
She had called the reporters today to expose Natalie and give her a scandal.
But now, she was the one trapped.
Heather kept the camera rolling until Rosalie was wheeled out of the operating room. Heather quickly went over to ask about the situation. The doctor took off his mask and said, "She's stable for now." He looked at Alice. "Are you her family? Go pay the bill."
Alice's lips twitched. She stood up and had no choice but to go pay the bill.
Heather had the nanny stay in the ward with Rosalie and then followed Alice.
Alice was now tired and hungry. Not only had her plan backfired, but she had also trapped herself.
