Chapter 294 Joining the Crew
Natalie grabbed the diamond pendant, tossed it in her bag, and turned to leave.
Renee was on the back door balcony, glaring at Natalie. "Oh, you dare show up again! Last time you pushed me down the stairs and broke my arm. I'll make you pay!"
Renee waddled over, blocking Natalie's path.
Natalie glanced at Renee's bandaged arm and smirked. "One broken arm wasn't enough? Want me to break the other?"
Renee stepped back. "Natalie, this is the Cullen family. You can't just do whatever you want here!"
Natalie was ready to leave, not wanting to argue. But Renee's bulky frame blocked her way. Natalie frowned, realizing Renee wanted a fight.
After the stair incident, Renee had been bedridden with a broken arm. Avery and Curtis were in a feud, so she couldn't ask Avery for help. Alice, busy with Howard family matters, ignored her.
"Someone, stop Natalie!" Renee yelled into the house.
Lizzy, in the kitchen, heard the commotion and came over. She looked at Natalie, then lowered her head. "Mr. Sinclair, what's going on?"
"Stop Natalie!" Renee demanded.
"Mr. Sinclair, I have chicken soup simmering. Ms. Cullen is taking it to Mr. Howard. I need to watch it." Lizzy glanced at Natalie and walked away.
Renee was furious but couldn't stop Natalie with one hand. She spat out some threats, but as Natalie walked past, she stepped on Renee's foot.
Renee screamed, clutching her foot. "Natalie, you bitch!" But she was in too much pain to stand, so she sat on the ground, yelling.
Natalie put the diamond pendant in her drawer, locked it, checked her phone, changed clothes, and got ready to find Kevin.
Her scenes were starting this afternoon. Alice was resting due to a foot injury, so all of Amy's scenes had been rewritten. Natalie officially joined the "Happiness Like a Song" crew this afternoon.
"Natalie, heading to work?" Rosalie asked, bringing folded clothes to Natalie's room. Seeing Natalie dressed up, she smiled. "You look beautiful."
"Mom, I'll be back late tonight," Natalie said. There was a night scene.
Rosalie nodded. "Okay."
"Mom, the diamond pendant you asked me to find, who gave it to you? Is it important?" If it was, Natalie would get it back from Alice.
"Diamond pendant?" Rosalie looked confused. "Did you go to Curtis?"
Natalie was puzzled. "No, Mom, why?"
Rosalie sighed in relief. "It's nothing, just an ordinary pendant."
"Ready. Action!"
On set, everything was ready. Natalie heard "Action" and got into character. She didn't expect her scene partner to be Samuel. They had met once at a Pearl Island party, but had no interaction.
Samuel knew Alice needed rest due to her foot injury, so they found a stand-in actress. This scene was one of the few remaining between him and 'Amy,' so he agreed to it.
He didn't expect the stand-in to be Natalie, who looked so much like Alice.
