Chapter 705 Public Relations
[I checked out the movie's synopsis, and honestly, Natalie fits the bill way better. Is Alice even tough and upbeat? Her vibe just doesn't match the lead at all.]
[Wait, so this was supposed to be Natalie's gig? Alice only got in 'cause of the Howard Group? Man, my hopes for Alice are pretty low.]
[Making stuff up? Nah, not my style. Check my old posts on Facebook. I'm right almost all the time, like 80% at least. Just a few days ago, I spilled the tea about Wendy joining a new project, and boom, she's in. The set's already up.]
[I even got a video of Victoria meeting with Natalie. One Day was meant for Natalie, but Alice swooped in and took it. And she's out here acting all buddy-buddy with Natalie. Can't stand her, pretending to be friends while snatching Natalie's gigs. Gross.]
Suddenly, this drama started blowing up online.
[So Alice really did swipe Natalie's role?]
[Always flaunting their friendship while backstabbing Natalie, Alice is such a fake. Seriously, being a rich girl, Alice gets whatever she wants. Poor Natalie. And some folks still think Natalie has all the hookups. Alice is the real resource hog.]
The trending news just kept climbing.
Soon, Alice's team tried to squash the trending news, but it was like trying to put out a wildfire with a garden hose. The more they tried to shut people up, the louder they got.
In the end, the hate flooded Alice's Facebook.
Alice didn't have a huge fanbase to start with.
Now, almost all the comments were from netizens and Natalie's fans demanding justice.
Alice had just wrapped up on set. She'd had a rough day. She thought she nailed her scenes, but Victoria's face was coulded with gloom. Alice knew that a big-shot director like Victoria hated last-minute casting changes. The bigger the director, the more they hated that kind of stuff. But Alice was already there, and with Dynamic Entertainment Media being the main investor, Victoria had to deal with it.
Victoria had been throwing fits on set these past few days.
Alice had been putting up with it for the sake of the show. She headed to the trailer.
Odette said, "Alice, this show's trending. Some blogger spilled that you stole Natalie's role."
Alice freaked out. "What? Delete it now, get someone on PR."
Odette replied, "I've already told the PR team. We're trying to reach that blogger."
Alice opened her phone and saw the comments, almost all calling her a resource hog, saying she used her connections to steal roles. Alice couldn't take it and used a burner account to clap back.
Odette reminded her, "Alice, Karen told you to chill. She'll handle it. Just focus on your lines for tomorrow and shoot the scenes peacefully."
"So many people are dragging me, and you want me to focus on shooting?" Alice snapped, "Get Karen to contact Facebook and ban that account now."
Odette thought it was a bad move. Wouldn't banning the account make Alice look guilty?
Odette reasoned, "Alice, if you ban the account now, wouldn't that just prove them right? Don't be so rash."
Alice was super annoyed. "You keep talking about fixing it. Has it been fixed? It's been an hour, and people are still cursing me."
