Chapter 602 Appearances Can Be Deceptive

Lori shot Claire a puzzled look, trying to figure out what was up with her.

"Mrs. Howard?" Lori called out.

Claire finally snapped back to reality, her face a mix of emotions. "Why doesn't Adrian wanna marry Alice?"

Lori shrugged. "How am I supposed to know what's in Mr. Howard's mind? But he's just gotten a grip on his spot in the Howard Group, and Mr. Donte Howard's breathing down his neck. It's no wonder Mr. Adrian Howard's got some worries."

Claire shook her head, put Adrian's phone back where she found it, and plopped down on the couch, looking all stressed out. About ten minutes later, Adrian rushed back in. Spotting his phone on the couch, Lori chuckled, "Mr. Howard, if you hadn't come back soon, I would've taken it to your office."

Adrian grabbed his phone and checked the messages.

Claire took a sip of coffe and said, "Since you're back, stay for dinner tonight. The food's already cooking. Lori's making some of your favorite dishes. Your dad's coming back tonight, too, you guys can have a drink together."

Adrian glanced at his phone and saw the unread messages. He nodded.

"Alright." Claire headed back to her study.

Lori followed her.

Claire said, "Help me find Natalie's current contact info."

Lori asked, "Natalie? You mean Ms. Teeger, the one who saved Mr. Howard before?"

Claire nodded. "Yeah."

Lori nodded back. "Okay. I saw Ms. Teeger at the supermarket once. She's in the entertainment biz now. There was a bunch of gossip about her, but it got debunked. I heard she signed with one of the Howard Group's entertainment companies."

Claire paused, her pen smudging the paper. She quickly lifted her wrist. "Dynamic Entertainment."

Lori replied, "Yeah, Dynamic Entertainment."

Just as Claire suspected, Adrian had Natalie sign with Dynamic Entertainment Media, where Alice was.

Claire asked, "You mentioned something about Natalie’s news earlier. What was that about?"

Claire rarely gossiped about the entertainment world and didn't pay much attention to it. Hearing Claire ask, Lori was momentarily stunned but quickly said, "I didn't follow it, too closely. Apparently, someone leaked a set of explicit photos, claiming they were of Natalie. The woman in the photo did look a lot like her, the facial features were very similar. But Natalie's studio said it wasn't her and debunked the rumors. This issue circulated online for several days, but the focus has faded now."

Claire didn't respond, focusing on her writing.

Lori said, "I think, although the facial features in the photos look like Natalie's, they could be composite images. With today's advanced internet technology, it's possible. Natalie doesn't seem like that kind of person; she seems pretty decent."

Claire responded, "You can't judge a book by its cover. Appearances can be deceptive."

Lori, despite her age, didn't follow the entertainment industry much. But she didn't think Natalie was that kind of person.

However, she didn't argue with Claire. What Claire said made sense. People were good at disguising themselves anyway.
