Chapter 687 Consideration

Since Adrian was clueless, Natalie figured she'd keep it that way.

After all, swapping a movie role was no biggie for Adrian. Plus, Claire kept it hush-hush, so nobody spilled the beans to him.

"You think you ain't right for it? Who else then? You've been gunning for this role for almost a year. From the get-go, you wanted it. I didn't throw money into this flick just to hand the role to someone else." Natalie was with Adrian 'cause she wanted the lead in Victoria's movie, and Adrian knew that crystal clear.

Adrian went on, "Found something better? Even if you did, the lead in One Day is perfect for you. The character and look fit you like a glove. I've read the script; it's solid. It's a disaster flick Victoria's been perfecting for years, and female-led disaster movies are rare these days. Dynamic Entertainment Media pumped two hundred mil into this. Victoria signed a deal to guarantee ticket sales, and it needs to rake in over 2.5 billion to be a hit. This is a golden chance; you should think it over."

Hearing Adrian's pitch, Natalie felt a bit sour inside but kept a smile plastered on her face. "Didn't know you were so clued in. You're so good at this; why not be my agent?"

Adrian pulled Natalie down onto the couch, wrapping an arm around her waist and laughing. "Not a bad idea," he said, "From now on, I'll vet all your scripts first. If they're worth it, Dynamic Entertainment Media will snag 'em for you."

Natalie gazed into Adrian's eyes, taking in his handsome, chiseled features. "You serious?"

Adrian nodded. "Totally."

Natalie lay on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

Honestly, even if it was all BS, even if Adrian was playing her, Natalie was still happy.

Natalie said, "How could I mess with your work? I have an agent, and she's pretty good to me."

"Mindy?" Adrian vaguely remembered the name.

Natalie shook her head. "Nope, her name's Heather. She's awesome."

Adrian asked, "Mindy doesn't handle you?"

Natalie explained, "Mindy's got a ton of clients. Slip-ups happen. Heather's my main agent. She's great."

"Good to hear." But Adrian still frowned, not thrilled with Dynamic Entertainment Media's setup.

Natalie said, "Why the sudden interest in my stuff?"

"You can care about mine, too." Adrian leaned in and kissed her.

Natalie looked into his eyes, gently stroking his brow. "Done with work in Verono? Got time now? I'm off for two weeks. If you're free, we could..."

Adrian grabbed her fingers, kissing them. "Of course, I got time. I'll be here every day to give you a good workout."

"Who wants to work out with you? The cheek of you," Natalie said, giving him a playful shove. His chest felt like iron, holding her tight but not too tight. Natalie looked at him. "Weren't we gonna eat?"

Adrian asked, "Hungry?"

Natalie nodded. "Yeah."

Adrian teased, "What do you wanna eat?"

"I don't wanna eat out, Adrian. I want your cooking." Natalie had never tasted Adrian's cooking before.

Natalie said, "My fridge is stocked. Make whatever you want."

Adrian thought for a moment. "You sure?"

Natalie nodded and smiled. "Sure. Even if it sucks, I'll eat it all."
