Chapter 355 What Did You Just Call Me?
Raymond heard about it too. His family didn't have close ties with the Howards, but the elders got along well. When Raymond came back, he visited Ruben from the Howard family.
He was tight with Colby, Adrian's friend. He knew Adrian but didn't interact much with him.
Raymond found Adrian too cold and didn't want to suck up to him. But he still had manners. Raymond stood up. "Adrian, what a coincidence."
Natalie stood up too and glanced at Alice, who was next to Adrian. Alice, noticing, clung to Adrian's arm.
Natalie smiled, surprised Alice was so wary. She noticed Alice's pregnant belly. "Ms. Cullen, you must be eight months along. Just two more months. Take care."
That morning, Natalie saw Rosalie struggling to bring chicken soup to Alice at Dynamic Entertainment.
Alice instinctively covered her belly, feeling guilty and afraid Natalie might say something revealing. She decided to strike first. "What do you want, Natalie? I've known you since we were kids. You can't target my child. This is Adrian's and my baby. If I've upset you, don't take it out on it."
She then hid behind Adrian, looking scared.
Raymond frowned. "Ms. Cullen, what do you mean by that?" He didn't know the grudge between Alice and Natalie, but Alice's remarks bothered him.
Alice didn't know Raymond and assumed he was just a gigolo Natalie brought along, not taking him seriously.
But she didn't expect him to be so handsome. How could he be interested in someone like Natalie?
Adrian frowned, and Alice quickly clung to his arm. "Adrian, let's sit over here."
Natalie didn't look at Adrian, and Adrian, after nodding to Raymond, moved his eyes away and sat by the window with Alice.
From behind the screen, Adrian watched Natalie's gentle profile.
But Natalie's faint smile was for Raymond, which annoyed Adrian.
Raymond looked at Natalie. Her expression hadn't changed, and she didn't seem to care about the earlier incident. Raymond pursed his lips. "That was Adrian's fiancée. She's pregnant, so her words might be harsh. Don't take it to heart."
Natalie smiled and looked at Raymond with bright eyes. "I know her better than you do. I know exactly what kind of person Alice is." Seeing the confusion in Raymond's eyes, Natalie said, "My mom used to be the Cullen family's housekeeper. I grew up in their house."
Raymond frowned slightly. Hearing Natalie talk so casually about her past made him uncomfortable, like something deep inside him was sinking.
He watched Natalie eat her fruit salad. "If you like this, I'll pack some for you to take home."
Natalie shook her head. "No need. It's expensive here. I can make it myself at home."
But Raymond had already called the waiter and ordered another portion, along with some signature desserts.
Raymond said, "The desserts here are really good."
Natalie smiled. "I make better ones than they do."
Raymond said, "I wonder if I'll get to try them."
Natalie suddenly asked, "Raymond, do you like sweets?"
"Huh?" Raymond was taken aback, hearing Natalie call his first name. He didn't react immediately. Looking at Natalie's bright smile, he felt a bit of joy inside. "I don't really like sweets."
He asked, "What did you just call me?"
