Chapter 555 Headline
Alice was tossing and turning in bed, unable to catch a wink. She grabbed her phone and started scrolling through Facebook, checking out all the nasty comments about Natalie. As she read the insults, a smirk crept onto her face, but she kept on scrolling.
[I'm all in for Natalie. Looks are everything. Even if she messed up in the past, I still got her back.]
[These pics look more like Alice to me. Alice and Natalie kinda look alike. Why's everyone saying it's Natalie? Can't it be Alice?]
[Yeah, I think it's Alice too! Glad I'm not the only one.] This comment had like six or seven thousand likes.
Alice clenched her jaw.
She couldn't believe people were still defending Natalie.
Alice's fingers tightened into fists. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head, and she called up Diana. "Get some reporters to block the entrance of Dynamic Entertainment tomorrow."
Diana hesitated. "Are we still doing this? Mrs. Cullen told you to back off Natalie tonight."
Alice shot back, "We're just calling reporters. We're not doing anything else."
Diana said, "But..."
Alice cut her off, "Wasn't this your idea in the first place? What, you chickening out now?"
Diana had nothing to lose.
If things went south, it would be Alice in hot water, not her.
Diana quickly agreed, "Alright, I'll handle it. I know someone at a magazine. She's got connections with tons of media folks."
Diana lay back in bed. She had tried to talk sense into Alice, but Alice wouldn't listen. This wouldn't affect her anyway. Alice was being dumb. Holding her $50,000 bag, she lay back, gently touching it, and called another friend.
Diana asked, "You busy?"
Rose replied, "I'm swamped, all because of Natalie. The whole company's been on Natalie duty these days. The editor-in-chief wants a headline, but how can I get one? Natalie hasn't shown up, and her place is locked down tight. No outsiders allowed."
Diana quickly said, "I got some scoop on Natalie."
Rose's eyes lit up. "Spill it!"
Diana said, "I'll tell you, but you gotta do something for me."
Rose nodded. "Alright, shoot."
Diana said, "Natalie hasn't shown up, but you can find her mom. Even if you don't get any big info, it's still a story. Write it up, hit your targets, and your editor-in-chief will be happy."
Rose asked, "But where's Natalie's mom?"
Diana replied, "She's been hanging around the Dynamic Entertainment building, probably trying to see Natalie. You can't get to Natalie's place, but you can go to her mom's. She lives in Blue Mountain Community."
Rose said, "Oh, Diana, thanks a ton. You've really saved me. I'll treat you to dinner sometime."
Diana reminded her, "Rose, I got one more favor."
Rose said, "Sure, whatever I can help."
Diana said, "I need you to spread this news. Don't you have a network of reporters? Like hundreds of them?"
Rose hesitated. "Yeah, I do."
But Rose was gunning for that headline.
