"Adrian was betrayed, and I helped him. He took away my innocence," Alice confessed, her voice barely more than a whisper. "Men often harbor a special affection for their first woman. You and Mr. Lawson may share a familial bond, but you're not bound by blood. Your grandfather dotes on you and holds Mr. Lawson in high regard. If you two were to unite, he would undoubtedly rejoice. Besides, you're a woman grown. Don't you wish to surrender your maidenhood to the man you love?"
Rachel's gaze dropped, her luminous eyes glinting with unshed tears.

Her heart was a whirlwind of emotions. "Of course, I want to."
Of course, she yearned to surrender herself to Jamie.
Rachel's hands clenched into tight fists, but how could she entertain such an audacious thought?
Alice discerned the stirrings of love within Rachel.
In the grand banquet hall, clusters of guests and nobility milled about, engaged in lively conversation. The crystal chandeliers bathed the room in a light as bright as day, their glow reflecting off the opulent attire of the attendees, casting a brilliant sheen.
The air was perfumed with the sweet scent of champagne.
Haven graced the stage, her fingers dancing over the strings of her cello.
The notes hung in the air, a melodious symphony.
Alice seemed to have a firm grasp on Rachel's youthful mindset. "Remember, you only get one shot at this. If you don't seize the opportunity, disregard everything I've said. I'll take my leave now."
As Alice made to depart, Rachel hastily reached out to stop her. "Wait!"
Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "Don't, don't leave. I..." Her voice dwindled to a whisper. "I didn't say no."
Alice clasped her hand. "Rachel, I'm to be your sister-in-law. I would never lead you astray. I genuinely want to help you. If you're agreeable, I'll arrange everything. Tonight, you will be with Mr. Lawson..."
Rachel's cheeks flamed, a decision seemingly made. She stamped her foot in resolve. "Alright!"
Alice noted her acceptance and couldn't help but smirk. She thought, 'This Rachel is really naive. She fell for it so easily.'
She retreated to a secluded corner and dialed Carlos's number.
"Carlos, I need a favor."
On the other end of the line, Carlos was engaged in a game of poker in the lounge.
"What kind of favor?" he queried, taking a drag from his cigarette and flicking the cards.
The women around him were quick to assist him with his hand.
Upon hearing Alice's request, Carlos's brow furrowed. He mulled over it for a few seconds. "Fine, I'll lend a hand."
After ending the call, he turned to a nearby associate. "Go downstairs and find Ms. Cullen."
With his instructions given, he abandoned the poker table, a mischievous grin playing on his lips.
Carlos dialed Paul's number and relayed Alice's request.
On the other end, Paul said, "Send Jonny over."
Carlos replied, "Dad, is this a good idea? After all, Rachel is the Miss Howard of the Howard family, and Jamie..."
Paul sneered, "Carlos, both of us are adopted sons of Ruben, yet I'm relegated to the role of a butler while Henry is Ruben's son. Henry's son can be the heir, but you cannot. Don't you see the disparity? Why should this chasm exist? Why is my son merely a butler's son, while a crippled Jamie is favored by Ruben?"
Carlos's grip on the phone tightened.
He thought, 'Jamie possesses something I desire too!'
If Ruben were to discover that Jamie had been intimate with Rachel, he would be forced to confront the situation.
Carlos understood his dad's intentions, "I understand, I'll see to it!"

After meeting with Alice, Jonny glanced around nervously, ensuring they were alone before presenting her with something. "Ms. Cullen, Xu-ge mentioned that this medicine is quite potent."
Alice retrieved a wad of cash from her pearl-encrusted handbag and handed it to Jonny, whispering a few instructions. "See to it that this matter is handled efficiently."
"I understand, Ms. Cullen. I assure you, it will be handled efficiently."
