Chapter 654 There Will Be Plenty of Opportunities
Carlos hung up and rolled up to Skyline Apartments.
Frank was sprawled out on the ground, groaning after getting worked over by Carlos's crew.
Carlos strolled over and waved his hand. "Don't kill him, but make sure he never talks again."
The guys nodded and closed in on Frank.
Frank, sensing the end was near, regretted ever leaving the Blue Bar. If he could rewind time, he'd have stayed put and kept his head down.
Now, there was no one to save him. He had no clue where Ava was.
A sharp pain hit Frank, and he blacked out.
Carlos nodded and told his crew, "Clean this mess up good. No traces, and keep him breathing."
John had warned him to steer clear of murder, so Carlos played it safe.
After wrapping things up, Carlos bounced from Skyline Apartments.
One of his guys followed and said, "Frank's got a girl named Ava, but she wasn't there. Should we handle her, too?"
Carlos replied, "Ava got snatched by one of Frankie's guys. Just keep tabs on Frank for now."
Ava felt a pang of regret after leaving. She'd been with Frank for a while, and her feelings for wouldn't just vanish.
Sure, Aiden could give her a cushy life, but she still had a soft spot for Frank.
Plus, she left Frank behind and had no idea what went down.
That night, Ava snuck back to Skyline Apartments without telling Aiden.
When she opened the door, she gasped.
The place was trashed—table shattered, cups smashed, and bloodstains on the floor. Ava freaked out.
It was clear Frank had been taken and beaten up.
Panicking, Ava bolted. She was staying at a place Aiden rented for her, not far from there. She knew Aiden had set Frank up; he never planned to help him.
Aiden just wanted to find Frank and drag him out of the Blue Bar. Ava had fallen for Aiden's scheme.
But now, Ava couldn't cross Aiden; she still needed him.
So, where was Frank?
Ava pulled out her phone, typed a message, and found Julian's contact.
Ava: [Frank's been taken. Not sure who did it, but he has been Skyline Apartments 502.]
That was all Ava could do.
They didn't take her, probably because she wasn't a threat, and Aiden likely had her back.
Ava thought, 'Frank, hang in there.'
That evening at the Howard Villa, Claire called Adrian twice to get him to come back for dinner. Adrian finally agreed.
Alice showed up early, bringing homemade desserts.
Ruben came downstairs, and Alice greeted him, "Mr. Howard."
Ruben nodded. "Alice, how's your health?"
"Better now," Alice said, having spent eight months recovering from her miscarriage.
Ruben nodded. "You're still young. There'll be more chances. Just take care of yourself."
