Chapter 1433 Andrea Woke Up
The internet was buzzing with discussions about this incident.
However, after a few trending topics went up, the news about Andrea's suicide attempt was quietly handled and cooled down.
Andrea had slit her wrists and was lying in the ICU, still unconscious.
The doctor said Andrea's condition was critical. If she didn't wake up within 24 hours, she might never wake up again. Natalie went to the hospital the next day. At the ICU entrance, she saw both Jamie and Adrian there.
Natalie walked over.
Adrian looked up at Natalie. In just two days, the man's eyes showed signs of weariness.
Natalie knew that without evidence, Dax wouldn't betray Andrea. Plus, the surveillance footage had been destroyed. Even if she said Andrea was the mastermind, no one would believe her. Instead, it would give others something to use against her.
Natalie wasn't stupid. Without solid evidence, she wouldn't say anything.
Otherwise, she'd just get accused in return.
She met Adrian's eyes. Her eyelashes trembled slightly as she walked over and held Adrian's hand.
She knew Adrian was worried about Andrea.
Because in most people's eyes, Andrea was the perfect victim.
They were all deceived by her fake appearance.
Natalie raised her hand to check the time. One more hour until the critical 24-hour mark the doctor mentioned. She bet Andrea would definitely wake up.
Then she'd play the victim and force Adrian to feel sorry for her.
After that, bit by bit, using underhanded methods, she'd drive a wedge between her and Adrian.
As long as she fell for it and cracks appeared in her relationship with Adrian, then Andrea could take her place.
The air was heavy with the smell of cigarettes. Natalie put on a mask. She really disliked this smell since getting pregnant. At this moment, cigarette butts littered the floor. Jamie leaned against the wall, looking completely defeated, as if wrapped in darkness.
Natalie's fingers tensed for a moment.
If only this man could give Rachel even a fraction of the affection he had for Andrea.
Then Rachel wouldn't have to cry herself to sleep over him.
The doctor and nurses came to the ICU to do an examination. Jamie walked over. "How is Andrea?"
Andrea still hadn't woken up.
The doctor's expression was complicated. "Mr. Lawson, as you know, Ms. Lawson has had many complications since waking up. Right now, the wrist-slitting has caused a deep coma. With current medical technology, waking her up is difficult and carries certain risks. It can only depend on Ms. Lawson's own willpower."
Natalie bit her lip. "I believe Andrea has strong willpower. She'll definitely wake up."
Jamie looked at Adrian in despair. "You owe Andrea too much. Adrian, two lives—you owe Andrea for both. She's fallen into a coma twice because of you. The first time she was unconscious for seven years before waking up. So what about this time?"
Adrian's lips were pale. "Jamie, I've already contacted a team of neurosurgery experts from abroad. They'll be here soon."
Just as he finished speaking, they suddenly heard a nurse's surprised cry.
"She's awake, she's awake."
Natalie narrowed her eyes slightly and looked over.
The nurse rushed out. "Ms. Lawson is awake."
Jamie froze, then his face lit up with joy.
And Adrian also let out a heavy sigh of relief.
The doctor went into the room to examine Andrea. After about ten minutes, he came out and said to Jamie, "Ms. Lawson has woken up. She defeated death through her own strong willpower."
