Chapter 386 A Perfect Match

Natalie froze, her hand gripping the doorknob like it was her lifeline.

The cold metal made her fingers clench a bit tighter.

She didn't turn around. Her voice, calm and composed, said,"Dr. Kamel, you need something else?"

She sounded like she was just chatting with her doc, no big deal.

"Not really, just wondering how you've been," Jagger's pen stopped mid-scribble, then he tightened his grip on it.

"Pretty good," Natalie replied.

She was about to step out when Jagger blurted, "Natalie, I broke up with Traylor."

Natalie bit her lip, hard.

She kinda leaned on Jagger 'cause he was Rosalie's doc and a genuinely nice guy. Any girl would be flattered by his attention, and she was no different. But deep down, she knew she didn't love him; he was just a bright spot in her otherwise dark life.

Plus, she had already leaned on him too much.

Jagger was a good dude, and she didn't want to drag him down.

It was better for him if she cut ties.

"Dr. Kamel, Dr. Kroger is awesome. You two are perfect together," she said, then walked out.

Behind her, Jagger's eyes were filled with disappointment, and he gave a bitter smile.

The Howard family.

Claire was painting when the butler announced that Grace and Raymond had arrived. She and Grace had been tight for years, so she quickly put down her brush and headed downstairs to greet her. "Grace!"

Grace walked over. "Raymond, this is my friend, Claire Howard."

Raymond, looking sharp in a charcoal gray tracksuit, said, "Aunt Claire."

Claire checked him out, nodded approvingly, and took Grace's hand to sit on the sofa. A servant brought coffee, and Claire said, "Try this, it's a new blend I got."

"Then I gotta savor it," Grace said with a smile.

Grace took a sip and asked, "Claire, is Rachel around?"

Claire knew exactly what Grace was hinting at. She had a great relationship with Grace, and Raymond was a catch, so she was all for it. She told a maid, "Go get Rachel."

The maid bowed. "Ms. Howard went out this morning..."

Claire frowned. "Where'd she go? She's not back yet?"

The maid replied, "She went to Windy Estate."

Windy Estate was Jamie's place.

Claire sighed. "Rachel." She was worried about this.

Rachel wasn't her biological daughter, but she loved her like her own.

Jamie wasn't blood-related to the Howards, but he was the late Mrs. Howard's favorite adopted grandson, and Ruben adored him too. But Rachel, who had clung to Jamie as a kid, still clung to him even now.

Claire didn't want to dwell on it.

"Sorry, Grace, Rachel's not here," she apologized.

Grace said, "No worries, I came to catch up with you. It's actually easier without the kids around."

Hearing this, Raymond sighed in relief. "Mom, then I won't bother you and Aunt Claire. I'll head out."

Grace knew exactly what Raymond was thinking. "Alright, go ahead."
