Chapter 1337 Jamie's Regret

"I know, I'll do everything I can to help Adrian."

Rachel wasn't Claire's biological daughter, but Claire had raised her since she was a child.

Now that Rachel was missing, Claire was heartbroken. She had been having nightmares for several nights, dreaming of Rachel calling for help.

Seeing Claire in such pain, Joe felt terrible too. He held Claire's hand, "Rachel's gonna be okay."

Adrian looked up, his gaze cold as he stared at Jamie. He seemed like he wanted to say something, but a soft hand gently covered his, dispelling the anger in his chest. He looked at Natalie, who shook her head at him.

Adrian knew now wasn't the time to question Jamie.

He couldn't believe Rachel had fallen for Jamie.

Meanwhile, Andrea was trying hard to hide her excitement. Rachel was missing, possibly dead, or maybe sold off to some remote village or even abroad, never to return to Vachilit.

Thinking of this, Andrea clenched her fingers tightly, her face showing a look of sadness and distress.

Even though Rachel was missing and the Howard family was enveloped in a silent gloom, life had to go on.

Lunch was ready, but Claire had no appetite and had a servant help her to her room to rest.

Ruben couldn't eat either, but he knew he couldn't fall apart. Jeffery helped Ruben to his feet. Ruben instructed, "Everyone, go to the dining room for lunch. Especially you, Adrian and Natalie, you two haven't rested much these past few days. Go eat. After lunch, Adrian, Donte, come with me to the study."

"Yes, Grandpa."

"Got it, Grandpa."

In the dining room, Ruben took a few bites before heading upstairs.

Melissa noticed Ruben's low spirits and had the kitchen prepare some simple, easy-to-digest food, which she brought up to him.

Adrian put down his utensils, his gaze icy as he looked at the man sitting across from him. "Jamie, aren't you going to tell us about the last call Rachel made to you six days ago?"

Joe squinted slightly, "Rachel called you?"

Donte also put down his utensils, sensing something was off from everyone's reactions.

Andrea was taken aback, suddenly remembering that night. She had gone to Jamie's study in her pajamas and overheard Jamie on the phone, seemingly mocking Rachel. It turned out that was the last call Rachel made before she disappeared.

Jamie nodded, dark circles under his eyes. He had been running around for days, trying to find Rachel with no luck. Looking at Joe, he felt guilty. "Yeah, Rachel called me for help."

If he hadn't mocked her, maybe Rachel would have been saved.

This was indirectly his fault.

Joe, "Why didn't you tell us about this? What did Rachel say?"

"I thought Rachel was joking. I didn't know she was really kidnapped, so I hung up." Jamie closed his eyes, filled with regret.

If he had asked more questions, Rachel might still be standing in front of him now.
