Chapter 935 Reunion
It took quite a long time for Rosalie to get over Curtis.
Natalie mumbled, "I was stuck under the rubble too. Everything was a mess, and I was scared out of my mind. There was this older boy next to me, his leg was trapped. I started singing to him. Then the rescue team showed up and got us out."
Adrian's eyes lit up with surprise. "Wait, you were buried under the rubble too?"
Natalie nodded.
"And you told the trapped boy some stories?" he asked.
Natalie bit her lip. "How'd you know? But yeah, that was ages ago. We got rescued, but when I tried to find him later, I heard his family had already taken him away."
"Natalie, it was really you." Adrian pulled her into a tight hug.
Natalie was stunned for a moment, then it clicked. That boy was Adrian.
'No wonder it feels familiar. That boy had a cold face, telling me to stop singing because I was terrible. So Adrian's been a grump since he was a kid.' She kissed his Adam's apple. "You've been this cold since you were little."
Adrian looked down at her. The theater was dim, and he could only see her silhouette, catching a whiff of her scent. "Am I cold?"
"Yeah, you know what people say about you? My manager says standing six feet away from you, she can feel the chill. With you around in the summer, there's no need for air conditioning."
"Perfect. When we get married, we'll save a ton on the electric bill," he joked.
"The CEO of the Howard Group, worth billions, cares about saving a few bucks on air conditioning?" Natalie teased.
Adrian smirked. "Gotta save up to buy my wife a diamond ring every day."
"Then I don't want it," Natalie said, grinning.
"Too bad, you're getting it," Adrian said, firm but gentle.
In the dim theater, they leaned closer on the couch.
Adrian hadn't seen Natalie in two weeks and missed her like crazy. His touch was gentle but full of longing. Natalie's cheeks were flushed, her eyes sparkling. Adrian loved seeing her like this; it drove him wild.
She was like an enchanting fairy, making Adrian willingly surrender.
Natalie was supposed to head back to York City, but Adrian took her to the Howard Mansion instead.
Standing at the entrance, Natalie felt a bit uneasy. "This feels kinda inappropriate."
Adrian noticed her sweaty palms. "Nervous?"
Natalie nodded.
'Of course, I'm nervous. Meeting Ruben for the first time, I am so nervous that I don't know what to say. I've met him a few times since, but this is different.' She took a deep breath.
Adrian whispered, "Ruben wants to meet you. Don't worry. He might seem stern, but he's a softie."
Adrian led Natalie into the living room.
Jeffery came out. "Mr. Howard."
Jeffery immediately recognized the woman next to Adrian as Natalie. She looked a lot like Alice, but once you knew them, it was easy to tell them apart.
