Chapter 049 The Illegitimate Daughter

The thought spurred her into immediate action. She attempted to reach Avery via a hurried phone call, but to no avail. She didn't answer.

Undeterred, she hailed a car and made a beeline for the Cullen Villa. Upon her arrival, she rushed into the grand mansion. Her eyes fell on Renee and she rushed up to her, demanding with an urgency, "Where is Avery?"

Renee's brows furrowed in disapproval, her voice scolding, "How dare you address Mrs. Cullen so informally, you little tramp?"

Natalie spun around to face her. Her typically meek and innocent eyes were now ablaze with fury. "Tell me now," she demanded, her icy stare freezing Renee in place.

"She's at the Fortune Hotel," Renee stammered, unable to comprehend why she felt a sudden chill under Natalie's cold gaze. "Today Mr. Howard is celebrating Ms. Cullen's birthday. Mr. Cullen, Mrs. Cullen, and Ms. Cullen are all there..."

Before Renee could finish her sentence, Natalie was already out the door, leaving the mansion in her wake.

Meanwhile, at the Fortune Hotel.

The Fortune Hotel was Vachilit's epitome of luxury, its top-floor suites commanding a minimum of $180,000 per night. Today, Adrian had reserved the entire hotel, spending tens of millions to celebrate the birthday of his beloved fiancée, Alice.

Alice was the object of everyone's envy.

The heiresses were all competing for her attention.

At this moment, Alice, adorned in a custom-made pink lace gown worth $16 million, was radiant. She was the center of attention, her beauty captivating everyone in the room.

The wealthy girls flocked around her, their words dripping with envy.

Alice was showered with hundreds of lavish gifts; the lounge was overflowing with them.

With a champagne glass in hand, Alice graciously accepted the blessings of the crowd.

"Mr. Howard really adores Alice. Was it necessary to go to such lengths just to celebrate her birthday?"

"He's so extravagant, spending tens of millions on a birthday party."

"I am so envious of Alice. The Cullen family is just average, yet Alice is now Mr. Howard's fiancée..."

Hearing these remarks, Alice laughed, her pride evident. The more these wealthy girls envied her, the more joy she derived. She reveled in this life of being the object of everyone's envy.

Her dress, a couture piece worth $16 million, was a runway model from an exclusive brand. Alice was the first to wear it.

Natalie, clutching Bella's invitation, stormed into the banquet hall. She scanned the room and finally spotted Avery.

Avery was engaged in conversation with two women. Natalie lifted her hand, adorned with a diamond bracelet, and offered a smile.

Narrowing her eyes, Natalie ignored the rest of the crowd and made her way over, calling out, "Avery."

Upon seeing Natalie, Avery's mood darkened.

"How did you get in here?" Realizing she had lost her composure, she immediately regained her calm and addressed the women beside her, "This is my friend's daughter. She might have an emergency. Please excuse me for a moment."

The two women, astute and understanding, glanced at Natalie in her modest attire and kindly replied, "Of course."

As they walked away, they began to whisper amongst themselves.

"That woman looks poor."

"Avery said she's her friend's daughter. I don't believe it."

"That woman bears a striking resemblance to Avery."

"I hadn't noticed. Now that you mention it, she does look a lot like Alice and Avery."

"Could she be Avery's illegitimate daughter?"

"Shh, quiet down. We don't want anyone to overhear."
