Chapter 391 Are You Still Mad at Me?
Natalie popped the bottle open, poured a glass, and handed it to Adrian.
Adrian grabbed it, downed it in one gulp, and set the glass down. Natalie poured another, but this time, Adrian didn't drink. Instead, he held the glass and her fingers, pulling her closer.
Natalie let out a surprised yelp, and the glass slipped from her hand, spilling everywhere. "Mr. Howard."
Adrian said, "I told you, call me Adrian."
He pressed her down on the sofa. Natalie looked at him. "Adrian."
"You mad?" His voice was a bit rough.
Natalie pressed her lips together and stayed quiet.
Adrian leaned in and kissed her, his tongue parting her teeth, diving into a deep, passionate kiss. Natalie wrapped her arms around Adrian's neck, and they made out like crazy for a long time.
The sofa wasn't tiny, but it wasn't huge either. As they kissed, Natalie twisted and suddenly fell off the sofa. In the next second, Adrian flipped over, cradling Natalie in his arms.
Adrian's back hit the carpet, and Natalie lay on top of him. "You okay?"
"I'm good." His voice was sexy and raspy. "You're not heavy."
Natalie pressed her lips together. "So, if I were heavy, you wouldn't be okay?"
"That's not what I meant." He reached out, his long fingers pinching her nose. "Still mad?"
Natalie let out a light hum. "Being stood up, can't I be mad? I waited for you for two hours, Adrian. You promised to come watch a movie with me."
Her tone was soft, sounding really hurt.
Adrian lifted a finger and brushed her nose. "Sorry, I did go, but it was too late, and you had already left."
Natalie asked, "I waited for you for two hours, until 10:30 PM, and didn't see you. Did you come at midnight?"
Natalie wouldn't believe that Adrian would come at midnight.
Adrian's eyes shifted slightly. He did go, and it was indeed at midnight. He knew Natalie should have left by then, but he still went to check, and sure enough, she was gone.
Natalie asked, "Then tell me, why didn't you come?"
Adrian said, "Something came up."
Natalie kept pushing. "What was it?"
Adrian said, "It's none of your business."
Natalie let out a humph and stood up. "Well. Then I won't ask. Mr. Howard, do you need any more drinks or a fruit platter? If not, I'll wait outside the door until you need something."
She called him Mr. Howard, and Adrian chuckled. He knew Natalie was pissed.
He reached out and hooked her waist before she could leave. They both fell back onto the soft sofa. Adrian held her, resting his chin on Natalie's shoulder. "Then I'll tell you, but you can't be mad."
Natalie nodded. "Okay."
Adrian said honestly, "That night, Alice came to me. She's pregnant and was very emotional."
Natalie raised an eyebrow. She guessed right. "So, you stayed to comfort her."
Adrian smiled helplessly. "It was because you went to Dynamic Entertainment. You must have upset her. She called me repeatedly that afternoon. I missed the calls because of a meeting, and she came to find me in the evening, crying and making a scene. My head was pounding. You know she's far along, and if something happened, it wouldn't be good."
Natalie looked at him as she said, "So, you went to be with your fiancée and left me hanging, making me wait for you for two hours."
"My bad." He apologized sincerely, pecking her cheek.
She pouted and ignored him. Adrian coaxed her in a low voice. He had never coaxed anyone like this. Natalie was truly the first.
They really seemed like a couple in love, with the girl upset and the boy gently coaxing her, kissing her face, and promising it wouldn't happen again.
Natalie's eyes suddenly welled up, and she couldn't describe her feelings.
She suddenly didn't know what her role was at that moment. Was she his lover? His girlfriend? But he had a fiancée.
Alice was eight and a half months pregnant and about to give birth.
Once Alice had the baby, she and Adrian would have their wedding, and then Natalie would be nothing.
Would she be a mistress whom everyone despised? She had no idea.
