Chapter 1382 Finding Eve (1)
Heather sighed, "It's not just us, even Kamille can't get out now."
"Elmer's really disrespecting Kamille. I mean, she's the princess of the East Side, and her fiancé's pretty influential," Zanna said, packing her suitcase. "But that Mrs. Roach... is she the lady with the fox mask? I think I saw her go into one of the lounges."
Natalie frowned slightly, "When?"
Heather urged, "Zanna, hurry up. If you saw Mrs. Roach, I'll take you to tell Kamille."
Zanna recalled, "I was with Natalie, touching up my makeup. When I finished, I was heading to our lounge and saw her go into the third room on the left."
Heather glanced at Natalie, and after getting a confirming nod, she took Zanna to find Kamille and informed her of the situation.
Elmer rushed to the third lounge upon hearing the news.
Cara was inside, resting. She didn't like the party outside and was listening to music on her phone, so she didn't hear the knocking. The guards probably thought the room was empty.
Seeing Elmer enter, and noticing his mask was gone, Cara was momentarily stunned. "Mr. Roach."
Elmer looked at the woman in front of him. "It's you."
Cara was pleasantly surprised and took off her headphones. "Mr. Roach, what brings you here?"
"Where's Eve? Have you seen Eve?" Elmer asked directly, scanning the room. It was small, and there was no sign of anyone else.
Eve wasn't there.
Cara replied, "Eve? I haven't seen her. What's going on?"
"She's missing. Are you sure you haven't seen her? Someone saw her come into this lounge."
"Missing?" Cara's eyes widened in shock. "How could she be missing? I did see Eve. My clothes got dirty, so I came here to change. Eve chatted with me for a bit and then left. I stayed here to listen to music because I don't like the noisy party outside."
Elmer's eyes darkened.
Where could Eve be?
Did she leave? Was she using this party as an opportunity to escape?
Thinking about it, his lips turned pale.
Before this, she had been so affectionate, insisting he come with her.
Elmer hadn't expected that this woman was planning to leave.
He closed his eyes and waved his hand weakly. "No need to look for her."
Maybe she had already found a way to leave.
This was the East Side.
The East Side wasn't under his control.
If she wanted to leave, it would be much easier here.
He hadn't realized that in just a month, this woman had rooted herself so deeply in his heart.
Elmer took a deep breath. For the first time, he felt moved.
And for the first time, he felt abandoned.
Elmer laughed at himself.
Indeed, if you don't expect anything, you won't be disappointed.
This past month felt like a gift from God, bringing Eve into his life.
But now, it seemed God wanted to take her back.
Was this fate's cruel joke?
Elmer had always known that if she wanted to leave, she would. But he hadn't expected it to be so soon.
Feeling exhausted, Elmer turned to leave.
Suddenly, Cara spoke up, "I know! It must be Mila. Mila had threatened to teach Eve a lesson before. Now that Eve is missing, it must be because of Mila." Cara then explained the conflict she had with Mila and how Rachel had intervened.
Elmer's eyes widened in shock. "Where's Mila?"
