Chapter 804 She Was Already Very Satisfied
Renee glanced around. These items were pretty valuable, and swiping them wouldn't be a walk in the park. If too many went missing, Alice would definitely notice.
After stashing the jewelry in the closet, Renee spotted a silver bracelet on the carpet. It looked kinda old and plain. Since it was just lying there, she picked it up and slipped it into her pocket.
Alice wandered into the living room, looking for Rachel but came up empty.
She headed out to the yard, planning to check the villa where Rachel stayed.
Just then, two kids came running and accidentally bumped into her.
Alice let out a yelp.
"Eyes on your road, kids. If you knock me over and something happens, can you handle the consequences?" Alice glared at the kids, a boy and a girl, both around eight years old, chasing each other. Their clothes didn't looked quite plain.
Plus, this was the yard, and there weren't many people around. Most guests were in the main hall.
Alice dropped her graceful act. "Where are your parents? You two are so naughty, you deserve a spanking."
The kids knew they messed up.
The girl apologized in her sweet, childlike voice, "I'm sorry. Marcus and I didn't mean to."
Alice snapped back, "I think you did it on purpose! Do you know I'm pregnant? The baby in my belly is from the Howard family. If something happens, your parents probably can't afford to pay up!"
The kids didn't get most of what she said.
Marcus frowned. "We accidentally bumped into you while playing, but I didn't hit you hard, and you're not hurt."
"How can you tell I'm not hurt? I don't know what kind of family raises such rude little brats!" Alice held her lower back and shot a nasty look at the kids. Their clothes weren't anything special. She strutted past them.
Behind her, the kids made faces at each other.
The girl grumbled, "Marcus, that lady was so scary. She opened her mouth like a big, scary monster."
Marcus said, "Yeah, people like that have no manners. Let's just go back; Auntie will be here soon."
Even though Marcus was the same age and shorter than the girl, he seemed way more composed.
The girl held Marcus's hand. "Is Auntie coming? I haven't seen her in forever."
By 7 PM, "The Nameless Road" had raked in $50 million at the box office.
The day after Christmas, the top-grossing film was "Chase Sound" with $170 million. It totally lived up to the hype as a big commercial comedy, mixing mystery, humor, and romance perfectly. The pre-sales for the second day even topped $100 million.
Even though "The Nameless Road" only made $50 million, Chris and Natalie were already thrilled. Their screening slots were limited, and the cast and crew weren't as famous as others. They also didn't hire many stars for promotion.
Estimates suggested the final tally for the night would be $55 million. With that, there was hope of breaking $100 million on the second day.
While hitting $100 million might only take a few hours for other films, as Natalie's first movie, it was already a big win to get such a handsome results.
