Chapter 749 One Bedroom

The signal here was terrible, which surely explained why it was an ancient town.

There weren't any large hotels here but a few small inns.

Tourists must flock here, 'cause when they walked in, the receptionist barely looked up and said, "Only got one room left with a king-size bed."

Natalie asked, "Just one? There's two of us."

The receptionist, a dude with a cig hanging from his lips, shot back, "You two lovebirds really need separate rooms? Take it or leave it. There's a line behind you."

Adrian didn't hesitate, "We'll take it."

The receptionist added, "Internet sucks here, so cash is best. PayPal's gonna lag."

Adrian was low on cash.

Seeing Adrian's blank look, Natalie couldn't help but laugh.

Adrian's card could swipe for millions, but a few hundred bucks in cash was a problem.

Even though it was a tourist spot, the inn's prices were pretty average.

The receptionist eyed Adrian. "Got cash or not? If not, let the customers behind you have it."

Natalie pulled out her wallet. "We'll take it. Five days."

She handed over some cash.

Adrian lugged their stuff upstairs.

A girl popped out from behind the desk. "That guy was so hot. Never seen anyone that good-looking. Like a celeb."

The guy with the cig scoffed, "What's so hot about him? Couldn't even cough up a few hundred bucks."

The girl rolled her eyes. "City folks are used to paying online. No biggie if they don't carry cash. And that girl? Total stunner. Even with a mask, she had that vibe. Bet she's a beauty."

The last room had a king-size bed. The decor was basic but had all the essentials, including a private bathroom and a tiny balcony.

Natalie was a bit taken aback that she'd be sharing a bed with Adrian for the next five days.

Adrian often crashed at her place, but not every day.

Living together every day made them feel like a married couple.

Natalie pulled the curtains open, letting the evening sun flood in.

She stretched, feeling wiped after sitting in the car all afternoon. Adrian wrapped his arm around her waist from behind. Her waist was so slim he could circle it with one hand and still have room. Natalie's back pressed against Adrian's chest.

Adrian's chin rested gently on her shoulder. He turned his face and kissed her cheek. Natalie felt a tickle and turned around. "You've been driving all afternoon. You must be beat. Rest up, and we'll grab dinner later."

Adrian, eyes on her lips, said slowly, "I'm not tired. Right now, I just wanna..."

Natalie asked, "Wanna what?"

Adrian replied with a smirk, "Just wanna eat you up."

He closed the curtains and scooped Natalie up. She was light as a feather.

They tumbled onto the bed. Natalie was in a black hoodie and jeans that hugged her long legs.

Adrian's kisses trailed over Natalie's face. She hooked her arms around his neck. They tangled together for a bit. Adrian had a bit of stubble, but Natalie's skin was smooth. When Adrian kissed her lips from aside, his chin brushed against her cheek, making her squirm. "Oh, you've got stubble."

Adrian held Natalie's fingers, guiding them to his chin. She felt the roughness of his stubble in her palm, asking, "Work's tiring you out?" Otherwise, why hadn't he taken care of his stubble?
