Chapter 1350 Facing the Risk of Amputation

Jamie said, "Let Ingrid take you to the hospital."

"Jamie, will you come with me? I don't want to go alone."

Jamie clenched his fist for a moment but then agreed.

Rachel was still missing.

He couldn't let anything happen to Andrea, the person closest to him. "Alright, I'll go with you."

Stumbling a bit as he stood up, Jamie turned to Adrian. "Adrian, if Rachel contacts you, let me know."

Adrian responded with a cold snort.

Jamie returned home, shedding his alcohol-soaked suit and tossing it on the floor. Ingrid approached him. "Sir, why did you drink so much?" She noticed Jamie's bloodshot eyes, a clear sign of sleepless nights. Worried, she said, "Sir, you should rest for a while." She knew Jamie had been tirelessly searching for Rachel, barely sleeping for the past two weeks.

"Where's Andrea? She said her leg was hurting. How is she now?"

Ingrid's expression turned a bit strange, but she replied, "She took some medicine and is sleeping now."

Jamie headed upstairs, intending to go to Andrea's room. Remembering the smell of alcohol on him, he detoured to the bathroom for a shower and changed into fresh clothes. Only then did he gently push open Andrea's bedroom door. She lay on the bed with her eyes closed.

He walked over, looking down at her.

Andrea felt uneasy under his gaze. She wasn't actually asleep; she couldn't sleep at all.

The leg pain was just an act.

Ingrid, feeling sorry for her, hadn't exposed the lie.

Ingrid was a servant of the Lawson family and very protective of them.

She never liked anyone from the Howard family.

Seeing Jamie exhaust himself and drink heavily every day because of someone from the Howard family, Ingrid naturally disliked Rachel.

So when Andrea, feeling neglected by her family, pretended to have leg pain to get Jamie's attention, Ingrid turned a blind eye.

Jamie bent down and pulled the fallen blanket back over Andrea.

Andrea slowly opened her eyes. "Jamie..."

She looked drowsy and just waking up. "Jamie, you're back."

"Yeah, sorry if I woke you."

"No." Andrea held Jamie's hand. "Jamie, I've missed you these past few days. You hardly come home. Have you forgotten that I'm still here?"

"Of course not." Jamie felt a pang of guilt. He had been so focused on finding Rachel that he had neglected Andrea. He sat on the edge of the bed and gently held her hand. "I'm sorry. I've been really busy. How are you feeling now? Does your leg still hurt?"

Seven years ago, Andrea's leg had been injected with a large amount of drugs, causing toxin buildup and bone changes. Several times, amputation had been considered, but surgeries had managed to save her leg. However, doctors warned that the condition might require future surgeries.

"It doesn't hurt anymore. Jamie, I'm just glad you're back. I've missed you." Andrea sat up. "Jamie, have you found Rachel? Any news?"

She was fishing for information. Seeing Jamie's eyes darken as he shook his head, Andrea's inner joy grew.

She hugged Jamie, pretending to comfort him. "Jamie, it's okay. Rachel will be fine."

But where Jamie couldn't see, her smile widened.

Without Rachel, the air felt much fresher to her.
