After snagging the amazing "Rising Winds" gig, Natalie turned down the better offers from Dynamic Entertainment and went for "The Nameless Road" instead. Chris, Esme's right-hand guy, was great, but he couldn't carry a movie on his own. This team-up with Natalie was proof of her acting chops.
Just as Heather was buzzing with excitement, her phone started going off.
Heather checked her phone and saw a bunch of messages.
The entertainment world was always on high alert, and trends got noticed right away.
A big film production company had already reached out to Heather. It wasn't from Dynamic Entertainment, but the producer of the year's biggest commercial film had seen "The Nameless Road" and wanted Natalie to audition for the lead female role.
Dynamic Entertainment was cool, but most artists didn't want to be tied down to one company forever. Once they got strong enough, they all wanted to branch out and take on outside projects.
Heather hadn't replied yet when she got a message from a photographer friend: [Oh my God, I asked my friend about Alice, and guess what?]
Heather replied: [Don't leave me hanging. Spill!]
Photographer: [She had a massive hemorrhage from an ectopic pregnancy, and the top gynecologist, Eudora, did the surgery and removed her uterus.]
Heather was nonplussed.
She thought Alice would use this baby to secure her spot in the Howard family. When Alice first got pregnant, she splashed the news everywhere, claiming she was about to marry into money. But now, things had taken a wild turn.
She glanced at Natalie, who probably only knew Alice had a miscarriage.
To be exact, the public didn't know the full story yet.
The Howard family must've kept it under wraps.
After all, it wasn't exactly good news.
"Natalie, my friend just told me Alice had a massive hemorrhage from an ectopic pregnancy, and they had to remove her uterus." Seeing Natalie stunned, Heather thought she'd feel bad for Alice. She quickly grabbed Natalie's hand. "Don't feel sorry for her; she had it coming!"
Heather knew how dark Alice's heart was behind that sweet and innocent facade.
Natalie was just surprised, not sorry. She knew better than anyone what kind of person Alice really was.
Still, Natalie hadn't expected Alice's fate to turn out like this.
Heather casually said, "Do you think someone like Alice would've had a shot at the Howard family if she hadn't been pregnant? Now that she doesn't have a uterus, do you think the Howard family still wants her? It's a joke."
Natalie had a feeling there was more to this.
When Alice first went to the Howard family, she was fine and had regular check-ups. The Howard family brought her in to take care of the baby, so the check-ups must've been thorough. How could they miss an ectopic pregnancy?
Natalie asked, "When did Alice have the surgery?"
"This morning," Heather replied.
So Adrian had rushed off this morning because of Alice.
Natalie continued, "Heather, do a lot of people know about this?"
Heather said, "Not many. The Howard family probably blocked the news. My friend even warned me not to spread it. All the nurses in the obstetrics and gynecology department signed confidentiality agreements."
