Chapter 672 Not a Slip
After all, Natalie and Samuel's status and fan base weren't on the same level.
Samuel: [It wasn't a slip.]
Natalie stared at that message, her heart doing somersaults. She couldn't chill out for ages.
Her brain was buzzing like crazy.
What the heck did Samuel mean by that?
Did he really like the post himself?
Was it seriously not a mistake?
Natalie bit her lip. Heather noticed something was off. "What's up, Natalie?" Heather asked, thinking Natalie was bummed because Samuel's fans were accusing her of riding his coattails.
Heather said, "I've already got the ops team on it. They're watching the trending news and the comments. The topic's locked, so no haters can mess with it."
Natalie asked, "Heather, do you think Samuel liked it by accident?"
"Probably. If his fans freak out, his team might have to step in and explain. But I doubt they will. Samuel's not like other celebs. He's 29, got a bunch of hit shows, and attention will be drawn to him itself. He doesn't rely on fans, so he probably won't say anything. It's not our problem. He liked the post on his own; we didn't make him do it."
Natalie sighed into the night. "I asked Samuel, and he said it wasn't a slip."
Heather's eyes went wide. "Then what was it?"
It was on purpose.
"Do you think Samuel..." Heather trailed off, just as shocked. Samuel was a big deal in the industry, a top actor, and every network wanted him. He was at the top of his game, with tons of fangirls. Plus, he came from a rich family and had zero scandals.
Everyone knew Samuel hated hype.
So why did he like Natalie's post?
Heather didn't want to think too much about it.
Back at the hotel, Natalie took a shower, dried her hair, and plopped down on the couch with her phone. After Samuel replied to her message on Facebook, she hadn't responded.
She didn't know what to say to him.
Natalie had grown up fast, dealing with family pressure. She wasn't naive. His message was full of mixed signals. She remembered the first time they met, on an island. He was the big shot, invited to the event. Back then, Natalie was just a lowly maid, as Alice would say.
When they met again, they added each other on Facebook.
Samuel introduced her to Victoria.
Natalie didn't believe Samuel helped her out of the goodness of his heart.
She'd seen too much crap in the world, it almost drowned her.
Natalie changed her clothes and headed out.
Most of the cast was staying at this hotel.
Samuel was on the seventh floor. As Natalie got into the elevator, she pulled out her phone and called him. "Hey, Samuel, which room are you in?"
