Chapter 966 The Withered Rose
When it came to her parents, Bella just couldn't hold back.
Soon enough, Bella dropped her gaze, giving in to her fate.
No one had a clue what this lunatic in front of her might do next.
Nicholas let go of her hand and stood up, casting a shadow over Bella.
She closed her eyes and slumped against the wall like a wilted rose, completely drained.
Nicholas had a playful smirk on his face. He raised his hand, and Bella heard the sound of fabric brushing against buttons near her ear, which sent her nerves into overdrive. She snapped her eyes open, her lips trembling as she looked at him, fear written all over her face.
"What are you doing?" Bella's shoulders shook uncontrollably.
"We're legally married. What do you think I'm gonna do?" Nicholas's eyes were cold and mocking. His fingers playfully pinched Bella's chin, and with a bit of pressure, a red mark appeared on her skin.
Knowing what was coming, she stopped resisting and struggling, staring at him coldly. "In my heart, you'll never be even a fraction of what Austin is."
That sentence completely set him off.
Nicholas had endured all kinds of crap from Cassidy and faced tons of hardships since he was a kid. Even so, he had gritted his teeth and pushed through.
But he hadn't expected Bella's pale, mocking words to shatter his heart so easily.
Nicholas's throat tightened.
Bella felt his grip suddenly tighten around her neck, strong enough to make her uncomfortable but not enough to suffocate her, as Nicholas had measured his strength.
Even so, the smile on her lips grew wider.
The more uncomfortable she felt, the more she saw him lose it, the bigger her mouth cracked.
"Never, not even..." Bella could barely get the words out.
He suddenly tightened his grip, seeing the pain of suffocation on her face.
Nicholas let out a low growl and released his fingers.
Bella lay on the ground, smiling painfully. "Never even a fraction of Aus..."
The next second, Nicholas lowered his head, and a strong, forceful kiss sealed her lips. Bella didn't get to say the last word. She bit down hard, seemingly out of revenge.
The next second, pain shot through her lips as Nicholas bit her back.
Bella, in anguish, struggled to push him away.
At that moment, Nicholas was like a beast unleashed. He was no longer the Nicholas she usually knew. The dignified words and handsome appearance of the past Nicholas were torn to pieces before Bella's eyes. She only felt hatred for Nicholas and also resented Austin a bit, wondering why he conspired with Nicholas to set her up, and the person she liked so much didn't even trust her.
But when she thought of Austin lying on the hospital bed, his life hanging by a thread, and the child in her belly being Nicholas's, she felt utterly helpless.
Nicholas's fingertips brushed against her waist for a moment, trembling briefly. His fingers gently rested on her abdomen, where their child was. At that moment, his eyes showed tenderness. Only then did he shed the reputation of being the reckless and unlearned second son of the Reynolds family and seemed like a normal person.
Bella's eyes were lifeless, her lips dry and trembling. "If you dare to hurt my parents, I'll abort this unlucky child!"
