Chapter 246 Do Me a Favor

After a moment, Natalie looked into Daniel's eyes and said, "Daniel, our future is bound to be different."

Daniel urged, "How will you know if you don't give it a shot?"

Natalie stayed silent.

"Natalie, I know you haven't accepted me yet, but I'll keep trying," Daniel insisted.

"Mr. Murphy," Natalie said, half amused and half exasperated by his persistence.

But she felt a warmth inside. Here was a man who didn't care about her past, even though Alice had tried to ruin her reputation.

Alice had spread rumors about her having an indiscreet private life.

Daniel said, "Natalie, I brought you some supplements. The doctor said you were malnourished and a bit anemic when you were unconscious."

"Thank you," Natalie replied.

"No need to thank me," Daniel said.

In the kitchen, Natalie was cooking pasta, and the aroma filled the air. She almost forgot and walked back to the kitchen. She had made enough pasta for two plates. "I made Spaghetti with ketchup. Want some?"

She also cooked some vegetables. The fridge was almost empty because she planned to move out soon.

Daniel quickly finished a plate. It was simple spaghetti, but he found it surprisingly delicious. He glanced at Natalie, thinking it was as good as any five-star hotel meal.

"Natalie, are you going on a trip?" Daniel noticed the open bedroom door with two suitcases inside.

Natalie looked up and said, "I'm planning to move out."

"Moving out sounds good. This place is too small," Daniel said. "Found a new place yet?"

Natalie shook her head. "Not yet."

After leaving Natalie's place, Daniel called a few friends. One of them said, "You want to rent a place? Mr. Murphy, you own several villas. Why rent?"

"It's not for me. It's for a friend. The place can't be too nice; she wouldn't accept it," Daniel explained.

"A girl, right? Mr. Murphy, when did you change girlfriends? Bring her over sometime," his friend teased.

"I'm busy," Daniel said, swamped with school lately.

His friend suggested, "Check rental websites or bulletin boards in neighborhoods you like."

Daniel made the rounds and eventually found a suitable neighborhood with a good security system, close to the city center, with convenient access to subway and bus routes. The rent was reasonable, though it might still be a bit steep for Natalie.

Several apartments were available in the complex, and Daniel found one on a good floor and got in touch with the current tenant.

"I want this apartment," Daniel said.

"We only rent it out," the owner replied.

"I'll buy it for 20% above market price," Daniel offered.

"Alright, I'll handle the paperwork right away," the owner agreed.

Daniel spent an afternoon finalizing the deal. It was a 900-square-foot, two-bedroom apartment, perfect for Natalie. He thought for a moment and contacted Bella.

"Is this Mr. Murphy?" Bella asked, unsure.

"It's me," Daniel replied.

"Mr. Murphy, why are you calling me?" They had never been in contact and didn't even greet each other at school.

"Bella, I know you're close with Natalie. Can you do me a favor?" Daniel asked.
