Chapter 903 The Bet

'Anyway, no matter what goes wrong, Natalie always gets blamed. Otherwise, I'd really feel the sting of that $400,000 compensation. When I get back, my parents are probably gonna chew me out. I'm not exactly the golden child in the Everly Family,' Diana thought.

Avery was already fed up with Natalie, and now, with Alice being detained, she was in a foul mood. Hearing Diana's words, she wished Natalie would just disappear.

In the morning, Natalie whipped up some desserts and took them over to Blue Moon Lake Estate.

Lauchelle was playing chess with Kamille, along with a few friends, including Rebecca. They were all there for a farewell lunch with Lauchelle, who was heading back to his home country and probably wouldn't be around much.

Marshall had been waiting at the door for Natalie. When he saw her car pull up, he strode over and respectfully opened the door. He led Natalie to the café. "Lauchelle is right this way."

Natalie had been here before. She hadn't expected it, but she had praised Lauchelle's taste at the time. This place was like a world filled with the rich aroma of coffee.

Marshall walked over. "Lauchelle, Ms. Teeger is here."

Lauchelle was deep in his chess game with Kamille. He looked up, his gaze passing over a few friends and landing on Natalie. "Natalie, you finally made it." He waved her over. "Come on, help me out. This game is yours now." With that, Lauchelle made room for her.

Natalie sat down and said, "I made some desserts, Lauchelle. You should try them."

Lauchelle smiled, "Great, I've been waiting for your desserts for ages."

Natalie glanced at the chessboard. Lauchelle was playing black, and Kamille was playing white. But Kamille's chess skills were impressive, and the white pieces had the black pieces completely locked down. Kamille's chess skills were as strong as her personality, even Lauchelle was out of running.

This game seemed mostly lost, and turning it around would be tough.

But for Natalie, it wasn't a problem.

Lauchelle had invited many of his friends today. He had considerable influence in Vachilit. On the surface, Lauchelle was a philanthropist, but running such a vast enterprise meant he wasn't just a good-hearted guy.

The guests today were all close friends of Lauchelle.

And without exception, they were all high-status individuals, like Conrad Wall, the CEO of Upper Water Group, Vivienne Mae, the female CEO of Singularity Group, Saul Pena, the president of Cinema World Entertainment in Emberlyn, and many other big shots from various groups.

The attendees were dressed casually, enjoying a relaxed gathering of old friends.

However, they were all curious about the woman who had caught Lauchelle's attention.

Saul, the president of Cinema World Entertainment in Emberlyn, recognized her. She was Natalie, the lead actress in this year's blockbuster movie, a rising star in the film industry. He hadn't expected her to know Lauchelle.

Kamille looked at Natalie, "Natalie, you better be careful. Even Lauchelle has found some reinforcements to win last time. I doubt you can win."

Today, Kamille was dressed in a simple yet expensive outfit. A blue velvet long dress, a beige cardigan, and with the indoor temperature just right, her long hair was draped over her shoulders, and her makeup was still exquisite. She truly lived up to her reputation as the top international socialite, with every gesture exuding elegance.
