Chapter 1235 It's Just a Girl's Boring Trick
Rachel is someone who loves posting on social media, frequently updating her personal status throughout the day. However, this time, Jamie couldn't see any of her updates.
Clearly, she had blocked him.
There was no expression in Jamie's eyes; he just squinted slightly and put his phone back in his pocket.
He thought Rachel's action was just a silly girl's game.
It was already past 11:30 PM when they walked out of the barbecue restaurant. Natalie waved goodbye to Anouk, got into the car, leaned back in the seat, and closed her eyes to rest.
Having had a bit to drink, the car was filled with the scent of alcohol.
Lloyd cracked open a window slightly and noticed that Rachel and Natalie, sitting in the back seat, seemed to be lightly dozing.
He slowed down the car, and it took another half hour to get back to Maplewood Estate.
It was almost midnight.
Natalie woke up, or rather, she hadn't really slept. She hadn't drunk much and was still able to walk.
"Beatrix, help Rachel upstairs."
"Okay, Natalie, wait a moment. I'll come back to help you."
"I don't need it. I'm very clear-headed. You don't really think I'm drunk, do you? The drinks at the barbecue place were fruit wines, not very strong." Natalie said as she got out of the car herself.
"Lloyd, there's a small balcony over there. That room near the yard is yours. If you don't like it, you can choose another one. The villa is quite large, and there are many empty rooms."
"This one is just fine. It's convenient. I'll stay on the first floor, and you guys are on the second floor. If anything comes up, just call me." Lloyd said with a hearty laugh.
Natalie returned to her bedroom and lay on the bed. After a whole afternoon of flying and then going out to eat, she was exhausted.
As soon as she touched the bed, sleepiness overwhelmed her. She forced herself to take a shower, washing away the essence of the alcohol, and then collapsed onto the bed.
Her phone lit up.
It was a message from Adrian.
Adrian had found out through Rachel's social media account that they were out drinking and eating.
He sent a message to Natalie.
But at this moment, Natalie was already asleep.
Rachel returned to her room.
She wasn't actually drunk; fruit wine couldn't get her drunk. She had several glasses and was still very clear-headed.
She couldn't sleep, still very awake. She instinctively took out her phone, glanced at it, and opened Facebook to play for a while.
Suddenly, she saw Andrea's personal update. Her fingers trembled for a moment, then she clenched her hand tightly.
Andrea, was she showing off?
She knew Jamie treated Andrea well. She had blocked Jamie, trying to avoid everything about him, but she couldn't escape.
From a youthful crush to a confessed love that was rejected, Rachel was the beloved little princess of the Howard family, but Jamie had rejected her many times.
Rachel had waited for Jamie many times.
But he never came.
She couldn't wait for Jamie anymore, so she gave up.
She blocked Jamie on social media, thinking that if she wasn't going to look for him anymore and would forget him, she might as well forget him completely.
She directly blocked Jamie and then deleted his contact information.
She went to the bathroom.
Rachel filled the tub and lay in it.
Her body slowly sank, going down.
The warm water enveloped her, and the light before her eyes disappeared.
When she was 14, she had fallen into a lake during a family trip.
Rachel hadn't accidentally stepped into the lake.
Someone had pushed her from behind.
At that time, only Andrea was behind her.
In the moment she fell into the lake, someone rushed in to save her.
That person was Jamie.
