Chapter 1236 He Saved Her

Rachel was lifted up and given CPR. The doctor arrived quickly, and she woke up.

She said it was Andrea who pushed her, but Andrea just cried, shaking her head and denying it, which made her seem like she was lying.

There was no surveillance, and no one believed her.

Even Ruben said she had fallen into the lake and was mistaken.

But Rachel clearly saw Andrea smiling at her, a smug smile.

"Rachel, Rachel, are your clothes in the closet? Do you need the dress outside washed? I can take it to the laundry room downstairs. Rachel, I think your phone is ringing," Beatrix knocked on the bathroom door.

Rachel suddenly woke up.

She felt suffocated.

Water had entered her mouth and nose.

She coughed and sat up, her heart pounding wildly.

Just now, she had almost fallen asleep in the bathtub.

If she hadn't woken up, she would have been dead by morning.

Rachel got up and wrapped herself in a towel.

Hearing Beatrix's voice outside, she opened the door, "Just put the clothes in the laundry room downstairs."

Beatrix looked at her, "Rachel, you shouldn't take a bath after drinking. If you do, you need to set a timer, otherwise, it's easy to..."

Beatrix didn't finish her sentence. It's easy to have an accident, especially when drunk, with slower reactions. If you fall asleep, it could be disastrous.

Rachel rubbed her forehead, "I know, I won't take a bath. Luckily, you knocked on the door and woke me up."

Beatrix, seeing that Rachel was okay, sighed in relief, "Rachel, I'll head downstairs then."

Rachel said, "Yeah, it's late. Get some sleep. You have to accompany Natalie to the shoot tomorrow."

"I'm not tired. I'm young and can handle it," Beatrix smiled, taking Rachel's clothes from today.

As she left, Beatrix closed the door. She hadn't expected that the heiress of the top-tier Howard family would be so easy to talk to, without a bad temper or arrogance.

Rachel lay on the bed, wrapped herself tightly in the blanket, and looked at the missed call from Adrian on her phone.

Rachel felt a bit lost. What was she thinking? What was she expecting?

Was she hoping Jamie would realize she had blocked her and call to question her?

How ridiculous.

She covered her head, and after a while, she called Adrian back.

"Adrian, you called me."

"Yeah, you answered so late. You didn't even send a message to let the family know you arrived in Suncrest City. Everyone's been worried about you."

Rachel turned over, "Ruben goes to bed early at this time. Mom and Dad wouldn't be worried about me. I often travel for days, sometimes weeks. I've been to many places, and they're used to it."

"Adrian, why did you call? It can't just be to ask about this, right?"

"Can't I be concerned about you?"

"Concerned about me? Adrian, you didn't care when I went mountain climbing or rock climbing. Now that I'm just out having fun, you're worried? You want to ask about Natalie, don't you?"

"No, I don't."

"If not, then I'll hang up."

"Rachel."

Rachel, "Yes?"

"Since when did you start teasing me?"

"If you want to ask about Natalie, just ask. It's not something to be ashamed of. Natalie and I met a friend right after we got off the plane. It's a friend who escaped with her when she was kidnapped, and now the head writer for this project. I think his name is Anouk. When we arrived in Suncrest City, Anouk invited Natalie to dinner, and we went together. Anything else you want to ask?"
