Chapter 379 Mindy Bell
"What are you gonna do on the gala?" Alice asked.
Carlos replied, "I'll mess with the chandelier. If you get through this, you'll be Mrs. Howard."
Alice leaned into Carlos, kissed him, and said, "I can't bear to part with this child. It's ours."
Carlos said, "I know. I want you to marry Adrian while carrying my child. I want him to raise our son."
Carlos had always disliked Adrian, fueled by a mix of jealousy and envy. Adrian was the heir to the Howard family, while Carlos was just the son of Ruben's adopted son, basically a servant.
The Howard family servants called him Mr. Duncan only because John was the butler. Without John, Carlos would be nothing.
Carlos's eyes darkened as he looked at Alice. He didn't really like her, but she was useful. If she became Mrs. Howard, she could be even more useful.
Carlos always felt inferior to Adrian but was deeply jealous of him. Adrian probably didn't know Alice was cheating on him with Carlos. Just thinking about it boosted Carlos's self-esteem, which was usually low.
Natalie got a call on Saturday morning.
"Hello, is this Ms. Natalie Teeger?"
"Yes, it is," Natalie replied.
"My name is Mindy Bell, an agent from Dynamic Entertainment. Could you come over? We'd like to discuss a collaboration."
Dynamic Entertainment, part of the Howard Group, was a big player in the industry. Natalie figured Adrian had arranged this. She hung up and headed over.
She had been to Dynamic Entertainment before. Looking up at the tall building, she walked in, this time for herself.
Dynamic Entertainment was on the 16th floor.
Natalie walked in and saw a young woman in a blue suit. The woman froze for a moment, staring at Natalie. Natalie asked, "I'm looking for Mindy Bell."
"Mindy is in Lounge 2," the woman stammered, realizing Natalie wasn't there to see her.
"Thank you," Natalie nodded and walked towards Lounge 2. She guessed the woman's surprise was because she was Alice's agent, Karen.
Natalie knocked on the lounge door.
"Come in," a female voice said.
Natalie opened the door and walked in.
The lounge was filled with sunlight. As she entered, warm, golden light poured in. A woman in her thirties, dressed in a white suit, sat in a chair. Her medium-length, slightly wavy hair framed her face. Her makeup was light but perfect, and her lipstick was a subtle mauve.
She looked at Natalie, and they sized each other up.
Natalie knew this was Mindy, her future agent.
Mindy's gaze was sharp yet gentle, exuding a strong presence. She looked at Natalie with some surprise but didn't show it much. She stood up and said, "Hello, my name is Mindy Bell."
