Chapter 1303 No Longer Lonely
This heart told Adrian that he was starting to think about Natalie.
Natalie felt a bit awkward seeing Adrian remain silent.
So it wasn't a pleasant surprise, but a shock.
Adrian didn't seem very happy.
Natalie coughed, "There was a flight tonight, so I came back. I hope I'm not disturbing you."
"No," Adrian said, "I was just a bit surprised."
Natalie breathed a sigh of relief.
Alright, it was surprise, not shock.
Violette saw that Adrian and the two dogs hadn't come in yet, so she walked to the door.
"Mrs. Howard, you're back!"
Natalie looked at Violette and smiled, "Violette, you're here too."
Violette smiled and walked out, "Mrs. Howard, come in quickly. You must be tired after just getting off the plane. I made some milk."
Natalie walked into the living room.
She noticed that ever since Violette had been there, the whole living room had become much brighter and warmer, no longer the cold tones it used to have.
Violette glanced at Adrian walking behind Natalie and lowered her voice to say to Natalie, "Mrs. Howard, Mr. Howard told me yesterday that you would be back tomorrow morning. He asked me to restock some of your daily necessities, like shampoo and skincare products."
Natalie hadn't expected Adrian to be so thoughtful.
Seeing Natalie's skeptical look, Violette nodded, "Really."
She glanced at Adrian again, who was playing with Rocky at the door, and lowered her voice, "Mr. Howard holds you in a very important place in his heart."
Natalie took a sip of the milk, which Violette made for herself every night.
The night in Bayview was already a bit chilly.
A cup of hot milk dispelled the cold.
The furry Rocky came to Natalie's feet.
She looked at Rocky, "Your name is Rocky? Who named you?"
Rocky barked twice.
Rocky was a small dog, and its voice was a bit sharp.
But it wasn't piercing. Natalie picked up Rocky, "Hello, Rocky."
Seeing Natalie holding Rocky, Lucky ran over, seemingly wanting attention too.
Lucky burrowed into Natalie's arms, so Natalie had to put Rocky down and hold Lucky, "Alright, you're the best. Our Lucky is the most obedient."
Although Rocky wasn't familiar with Natalie, seeing how close Lucky was playing with Natalie, Rocky also wanted to be held by Natalie and anxiously circled around her feet, biting at her pants.
Natalie had to free one hand to pick up Rocky as well.
Adrian walked up behind her and saw that she was struggling a bit, "Rocky, Lucky!"
Hearing their owner's call, Lucky ran over.
Natalie thought Adrian was going to say something to her, given that she had just returned, but she didn't expect him to say, "You must be tired after a whole night on the plane. Go rest."
"Okay," Natalie lowered her eyes, suppressing the disappointment in her heart.
Natalie thought that her sudden return would make Adrian happy.
Violette carried Natalie's suitcase upstairs.
She was only back for two days this time, so she didn't bring much—just a few clothes, a laptop, some skincare products, a script, and some specialties from Suncrest City.
Violette prepared the bath for Natalie, "Mrs. Howard, take a bath. I added some cherry blossom essential oil."
"By the way, the cherry blossom trees in the garden of the Howard Mansion have grown quite a bit. By next spring, they'll be in full bloom. When Mrs. Howard finishes this movie, you'll be able to see them when you come back."
"Violette, thank you for coming to Bayview Villa."
"You're welcome. I'm originally a servant of the Howard family, so I can work anywhere. It's just that Mr. Howard allowed it."
"You know, Bayview Villa used to have only Mr. Howard. Now with you, Mrs. Howard, it's not so lonely anymore."
