Chapter 512 Punishment
Eunice totally did it on purpose to make Charlotte look bad.
She had the press all set up, just waiting to drop the bomb after hitting the red carpet.
Eunice's voice was all sugary sweet. "Mindy, I'm just waiting for the go-ahead too. Look, I'm already in my gown, hair and makeup done. How was I supposed to know Charlotte wouldn't walk the red carpet?"
Charlotte glared at Eunice, teeth clenched. "Eunice, everyone knows you and Mr. Allen..."
Charlotte was about to spill the tea, but her agent Coco quickly coughed, giving her the signal to zip it.
Eunice's eyes went wide, like she caught Charlotte slipping. "Charlotte, what were you about to say?"
Mindy felt a headache coming on. Two celebs bickering, and now Gavin was dragged into it.
"Alright," Mindy said, "Since neither of you wants to walk, then don't. Charlotte and Eunice, you're both benched for a month. I can't stand artists who don't follow the rules."
After Mindy dropped the bomb, the room went dead silent for a few seconds.
No one dared to say a word.
The tension between the two eased up a bit.
Charlotte and Eunice knew better than to mess with Mindy. They had some pull, but not enough to go against her.
Everyone knew Mindy was a big deal at Dynamic Entertainment Media.
Besides Tristan Harrison and Gavin, Mindy was the real deal.
Once Mindy left, Charlotte snorted, lifted her dress, and stormed out.
Still fuming from not walking the red carpet, Charlotte headed straight to her dressing room. She plopped on the sofa and kicked a stool. Coco quickly checked the door, making sure no paparazzi were lurking, then closed it and turned to her. "Don't let anyone hear you."
Charlotte couldn't keep things bottled up and hated being wronged. She immediately threw a fit. "Eunice set up a dinner with Gavin to one-up me. The press release is probably ready. Do I have to just sit here and take it? Mindy suspended me for a month without even hearing my side!"
Coco lowered her voice. "Keep it down."
Charlotte stomped her foot. "I've already taken the hit, can't I vent a little? Besides, Mindy's gone."
Coco sat next to Charlotte and looked at her, all dolled up in a luxury haute couture gown for the red carpet. The team had worked hard to borrow that gown and even hired the best photographer. They planned for her to steal the show. Now, she didn't even get to walk.
What a waste! Now Charlotte had to change into another gown.
And she'd have to explain to the brand.
Next time, it would be tough to borrow a haute couture gown from them.
Charlotte's frustration was boiling over. She swore she'd get back at Eunice next time!
After a sip of water, Charlotte started changing. Popular female artists usually had two gowns for events. She changed into the second blue gown and asked Coco, "While Eunice and I were backstage, who was the female artist walking the red carpet? I haven't heard of her."
Coco said, "Her name's Natalie. She's the lead in Oscar's new film."
Charlotte was shocked. "It's her?"
