Chapter 421 Wrapping Up

Samantha was checking herself out in the mirror. She'd dropped a ton of weight for this gig, but still couldn't squeeze into the tiniest dress. She sucked in her gut, then heard Heather's voice and scowled.

She shot a look at Heather. "Just tell him to chill. I'll be there."

Heather was getting antsy. "Samantha, it's been two hours. It's getting dark. We gotta go. Mr. Griffin and the other actors are still waiting."

Samantha rolled her eyes at Heather. "Let 'em wait. He's just an assistant director. What's a few more minutes?"

Heather sighed, watching Samantha try on clothes. Samantha always did her own thing, and Heather couldn't rein her in. Even though she was an agent, she was just an executive agent, a notch above an assistant. Samantha's main manager was Cheryl Stewart from the company. Cheryl wasn't as big-time as managers like Mindy and Karen, but she was good at landing gigs. Cheryl had a solid connection with Mindy, and after Dynamic Entertainment threw money into this film, Mindy handed it to Cheryl.

Samantha was a smooth talker and nailed the audition look, so Cheryl gave her the role.

Now, they were halfway through filming.

Heather was stuck. Chris's assistant kept blowing up her phone, and she could only stall for so long.

She glanced up and saw Samantha still messing with clothes. Samantha didn't seem to care she was late. Heather sighed again and carefully suggested, "Samantha, if you like this dress, let's just buy it and head to the set."

Samantha snapped, "Heather, you're just an executive agent. Since when do you boss me around?"

Heather pleaded, "Samantha, we really can't stall any longer. Chris has been tight with Esme for years and knows everyone. He's super picky and hates latecomers. There was this one actress who was late once, and he tore into her on the spot. It even made the news, and her rep took a hit."

Samantha scoffed, "I'm the lead in this film. Are you seriously comparing me to some nobody? Heather, if you don't want this job, just say it. Don't beat around the bush and insult me. Plenty of people would kill to be my executive agent. I don't need you."

Heather bit her tongue. She was trying to help Samantha, but Samantha didn't get it.

Fine, she'd shut up. Samantha could do whatever she wanted.

If word got out about her unprofessionalism, it would be on Samantha. As an executive agent, Heather couldn't control that. It would be Samantha's rep on the line!

On set.

Gavin walked over. "Tell everyone we're done for the night. No more shooting."

Chris yawned. "Aren't we waiting for Samantha?"

Gavin whispered, "Mr. Howard is here."

Chris, still groggy from his nap, blinked. "Who?"

Gavin gave him a look, and Chris snapped to attention. "Adrian?"

Gavin nodded.

Chris's face changed, looking confused. "Why's he here? Does the CEO of the Howard Group have nothing better to do? Don't tell me he's here to check out the set."

Gavin found it weird too but didn't dare ask more. "Beats me. I was shocked too. Anyway, let's wrap it up."

Chris looked around but didn't see Adrian. He even thought Gavin might be messing with him to end the shoot. After all, someone like Adrian wouldn't just show up on set.

Chris asked, "Gavin, you're not pulling my leg, are you?"

Gavin shook his head. "No way. I was just as surprised when I got the call..."

Chris eyed Gavin. "Fine, whatever. But listen, if Samantha's late one more time, I'm cutting her scenes."

Gavin knew Chris's temper. "Got it, I'll talk to Samantha."

Natalie stepped out of Harper's trailer, and her phone buzzed.

She glanced down and saw a message from Adrian.
