Chapter 1394 Profit

Natalie thanked Mr. Cross and took the box he handed her. When she opened it, she found a pearl necklace inside.

But this wasn't just any pearl necklace.

It was made of light pink pearls, which were full and round, with an exceptional luster.

Clearly, these were top-quality pink pearls.

"Thanks, Mr. Cross. I really like it."

Liam smiled. "I heard you went to Kamille's birthday party recently. I was tied up at the time and didn't know. Otherwise, I would've asked you to stay with us for a few days and have some fun."

Adrian chimed in, "Thanks, Mr. Cross. Next time, we'll definitely take you up on that."

Joe took a sip of his coffee. "Alright, you two head upstairs and see Grandpa. I'll chat with Mr. Cross for a bit."

Natalie and Adrian headed upstairs to the second floor. Once there, Adrian said, "Liam went to college with Dad."

"Oh, so his visit this time…" Natalie said, "Do you think he knows we went to Isaac's place?"

"Not necessarily. Isaac likes to think no one in the South District escapes his notice, but Liam's network is just as sharp. He might've known the moment I got to the island," Adrian replied. "Even if he knows we visited Isaac, it doesn't matter. I don't have any business dealings with him. I can visit any elder I choose, and he has no right to interfere. But Dad sending us upstairs was just an excuse to get us out of the way. Liam is definitely here to discuss some sort of collaboration."

"What kind of collaboration?"

"Do you remember the Pearl Island I bought recently? It's been developed into a tourist spot. The Howard Group has monopolized the pearl industry. Now, other jewelers either have their own farms or need to collaborate with Redwood Isle, which produces the best quality pearls. The entire pearl industry on Redwood Isle has revived, and prices are high. My collaboration with Isaac is about this. Besides shipping, there's the pearl industry. But the pearl industry on Redwood Isle isn't solely controlled by Isaac; Liam and others have their own farms too."

"Just having a farm isn't enough. Redwood Isle's pearls are high quality but also very expensive, making it hard for regular jewelers to buy them in bulk. Because of this, many pearls remain unsold."

Natalie's red lips parted slightly. "No matter how good something is, if it stays in your hands, it's useless. It only matters when it turns into money."

"Exactly," Adrian smiled. "So, whoever can liquidate their assets first will have more influence. The four districts of Redwood Isle don't get along. The Northwest districts have been weakened, and although the East and South districts seem to have a good relationship, there's constant competition. Where there's profit, there can never be true friendship. Plus, Isaac's people caused trouble at Kamille's birthday party, which has escalated their rivalry from covert to overt."

"Liam is here to get the Howard family to help liquidate their pearls?" Natalie understood.

"Yeah."

Natalie nodded, voicing her concern, "But weren't you planning to collaborate with Isaac?"

Adrian gently wrapped his arm around her waist and led her to a small balcony on the second floor. "I'm a businessman. I'll collaborate with whoever offers the highest profit."
