Chapter 390 Resignation

Natalie and Raymond bounced from the cemetery. Raymond didn't bother driving; he and Natalie just grabbed a cab. It was getting late, so they found a spot to grab some grub, and then Natalie was ready to hit up the Imperial Nightclub.

Raymond stuck around. "No way, I'm heading to the Imperial Nightclub too."

Natalie raised an eyebrow. "Who you meeting tonight? Need me to hook you up with a private room?"

Raymond shook his head. "Nah, not for now."

By 6:30 PM, Natalie rolled into the staff lounge at the Imperial Nightclub. She changed her clothes, and as soon as she stepped out, she saw Emma chewing out her staff. Natalie hung back until Emma was done. When the staff scattered and Emma was about to head back to her office, Natalie called out, "Manager Kroger."

Emma turned, looking a bit annoyed. "What's up?"

Natalie strolled over. "Got some good news and bad news for you. Which one you wanna hear first?"

Emma smirked, not really getting it. "What's the good news?"

Natalie, about the same height as Emma but without the heels, leaned in close and whispered, "Good news is, I'm quitting the Imperial Nightclub next week, so you can go tell Avery you've done your job."

Emma's face shifted. She'd been scheming behind Natalie's back, but getting called out like this was awkward.

Emma played innocent. "Natalie, I have no idea what you're talking about."

Natalie gave a sly smile. "You don't need to. Wanna hear the bad news?"

Emma's face stayed neutral. "What's the bad news?"

"Bad news is, you might get booted from the Imperial Nightclub next week." Natalie watched Emma's face twist. She grinned. "Of course, I said 'might.'"

Emma's face darkened, and she gritted her teeth. "Natalie, it's still up in the air who gets kicked out."

Natalie adjusted her hair. "True, it's up in the air. I'm quitting next week, so I might not see it happen."

"Natalie, I didn't know you had such a sharp tongue." Emma quickly regained her cool, thinking Natalie was just bluffing. After all, Emma had been there for years. "Good thing you're leaving on your own, or it'd be embarrassing when I fire you."

Natalie pressed her lips together, her voice calm. "See you next week then."

Natalie headed up to the second floor. She didn't have a fixed private room and rotated with Denise and a few others. Suddenly, someone called out, "Natalie, the guests in room 208 specifically asked for you."

Natalie nodded. "Got it, you take over here."

"Okay."

Natalie went to room 208, knocked, and pushed the door open. Inside the spacious room, Adrian was lounging on the sofa in a black tracksuit, looking way different from his usual stiff suit. He had a youthful, lively vibe. He looked at Natalie standing at the door. "Are you coming in or what? How long are you going to stand there?"

Natalie walked in, all business. "Sir, what would you like to order?"

Adrian shrugged. "Anything, you decide."

Natalie asked, "You alone?" Seeing Adrian nod, she continued, "Then I'll order light." Despite that, she ordered a bunch of pricey drinks. After that, she handed Adrian the bill to sign. Adrian glanced at it, smiled, and signed.

Natalie called the storeroom to prep the drinks and went to get them. Two minutes later, she brought the drinks to the room. She placed seven or eight bottles of expensive liquor on the table. "Which one you wanna drink?"

Adrian looked at her. "The one in your hand."
