Chapter 748 I Think It's Pretty Sweet

Adrian showed up in the end.

Natalie sliced up some melons, peaches, and pears. She grabbed a fork, stabbed a piece of peaches, and handed it to Adrian. He opened his mouth, and she put it into his mouth affectionately. "Sweet, right? I cut it this morning, should still be good."

Adrian nodded. "Yeah."

Natalie took a bite of the pear, and it was kinda sour. She squinted and handed a piece to Adrian. He took a bite and was clearly caught off guard by the sourness. Then, a mischievous grin flashed in Natalie's eyes. She speared another piece of pear and handed it to him. He glanced at it but still ate it.

She handed him another piece.

Even though it was sour, Adrian kept eating. In no time, he had eaten half the box.

Natalie asked, "Is it sour?"

Adrian replied, "What do you think?"

Natalie smiled. "I think it's pretty sweet."

"Then I think it's sweet, too." Because it was from Natalie, Adrian found it sweet.

Natalie suddenly felt their convo was kinda boring and pointless. "I didn't know the pear would be this sour. I picked the biggest ones, but who knew they'd be so sour. How about some melons instead?"

Adrian said with a calm smile, "You eat. We still have an hour to go. After you finish, take a rest, and tonight I'll take you out for dinner."

"You're really not eating? I can't finish all this," Natalie said, handing a piece of melons to Adrian. When he took it into his mouth, his tongue brushed against her fingers. Natalie's eyelashes fluttered. Adrian did that on purpose!

There was one last piece of watermelon in the container. Natalie took a bite and deliberately handed it to Adrian.

Without even looking, Adrian ate it.

Natalie widened her eyes. "Aren't you worried about germs?"

"What's there to worry about?" Adrian rolled down the car window, letting the breeze in. He smiled. "Haven't I had enough of your saliva already?"

Natalie blushed. "Eyes on the road!"

Adrian chuckled, "I am, but you're the one who is seducing me."

"I'm not!" Natalie closed the box and put it back in the bag.

"You sit next to me, feed me, and stare at my profile for a long time." Adrian's voice was slightly hoarse, like the rustling of leaves in the wind, making Natalie feel a tickle in her heart.

She bit her lip. "A face is meant to be looked at, isn't it? You're so handsome. Can't I appreciate it? Does it cost money to take a glance?" Natalie said, opening her bag and taking out her wallet, pulling out two hundred-dollar bills. "I'll give two hundred dollars for more glances."

Adrian said playfully, "Alright, when we get to the hotel tonight, I'll let you look for free."

Adrian was getting outrageous.

Natalie put the money back in her wallet. "You focus on driving. I won't bother you anymore."

Adrian inhaled the faint scent coming from Natalie. It was hard to pinpoint exactly what it was, not quite like perfume, but it smelled very nice—a mix of milky and floral notes, very light and fresh. Adrian took a deep breath and felt a leap of relief.

It was really nice to have Natalie by his side.

By the time Adrian drove to Rosewood, it was around 5 PM.

It was a small border town. The town had a simple and honest atmosphere. The ancient town was nestled here, and the locals seemed somewhat distant from the outside world. Although many people came here to travel, the internet was not very developed.

Natalie got out of the car, thinking she might be recognized, and put on a mask and a hat. But when she took out her phone, she realized there wasn't even 4G, just an E.
