Chapter 895 Send Her to Jail

Claire was super bummed out, thinking, 'This isn't the Alice I know. She's always so sweet and ladylike around me. But on that screen? She looked like a total street brawler.'

Melissa quickly hit up the PR manager at Howard Group, telling them to keep an eye on the buzz and handle any bad press about the Howard family on the down-low.

She pulled out her phone and called Adrian.

Adrian wasn't asleep either. He'd just wrapped up a video call with Natalie and turned off his tablet.

"Adrian, did you catch what went down with Alice?" Melissa asked.

Adrian had been glued to the live stream of the socialite gala all night, so he had seen the whole showdown between Alice and Sandra in the banquet hall. Marshall had filled him in too. "Yeah, I saw it."

"So, what's the plan, Adrian?" Melissa pressed.

"Aunt Melissa, remember we agreed two weeks ago that once Alice was stable after getting out of the hospital, we'd talk about breaking off the engagement?"

Melissa nodded, knowing Adrian had always been distant with Alice. "Alright, let's do it tomorrow."

After hanging up, Adrian gripped his phone tight. He glanced at his tablet screen, where his video call with Natalie had just ended, thinking, "Natalie, I can finally marry you."

Over at the Cullen mansion, Curtis's phone was blowing up.

Alice's antics were all over the internet, and it wasn't pretty.

Curtis and Avery rushed to the police station, but they didn't find Alice. Instead, they ran into Sandra's lawyer. It was already 2 AM, and they argued until dawn before Avery finally saw Alice.

Alice had thought Sandra was just bluffing. But once she was actually detained, she freaked out, her eyes red from crying. She didn't look like a socialite anymore; her gown was dirty, her hair a mess, and her diamond tiara was long gone.

Alice's eyes were swollen from crying, her makeup ruined. She looked a mess, sobbing uncontrollably in Avery's arms.

Heartbroken, Avery wished she could trade places with Alice. "Curtis, do something."

Curtis was already working on it. He called a lawyer and reached out to the Hall family.

Even though the Hall family didn't have much to do with the Cullens, their backgrounds were kinda similar. The Halls were a bit more prestigious, but not by much. They had to set up a meeting to talk it over.

But it was still the middle of the night, and except for a lawyer, the Hall family hadn't responded.

Alice didn't want to stay there another second, but she had no choice.

Curtis was practically begging for help, but no one was stepping up.

Even with all his money, he was still considered a nouveau riche.

Getting someone out overnight was a no-go unless the Howard family stepped in.

But when Curtis called Melissa, her phone was off.

It was the middle of the night, and everyone was asleep.

Curtis looked at the tear-streaked, red-eyed Alice and Avery's pleading, worried eyes, and said, "We'll have to wait until morning."

Sandra's lawyer said Alice deliberately scratched Sandra's face. Sandra had already gone for a medical evaluation and wanted Alice to face criminal charges.

Sandra wasn't hurting for money; she wanted Alice to go to jail.
