Chapter 724 The Doctor is Exposed
Rachel kept going, "And Mom, you know that jewelry store's part of the Howard Group. We always do our business fair and square. However, Alice could just snatch away that jewlery beause she asked the staff to do so."
Claire frowned. "Is that for real?"
The Howard Group always put customers first. Even if Alice had her eye on something, a customer's order should come first. Claire couldn't believe Alice would be so rude.
Claire asked eagerly, "So how did it end? What happened?"
Rachel shook her head. "No clue. I bounced before it got sorted out. If you wanna know, Mom, I can dig around. The manager's still there."
Claire nodded. "Where is the store?"
Rachel thought for a sec. "Rainbow Glow Road."
Claire nodded, deep in thought.
Meanwhile, Adrian didn't head back right away. He hit up the security room and asked the guard to pull up the footage outside the study.
The Howard Mansion was huge, with gardens all over the place.
Except for the bedrooms, the hallways had cameras everywhere.
On the footage, Adrian watched Alice walk out, grab a cup of coffee, and then stand outside the study door, eavesdropping until Rachel showed up and called her. Only then did Alice act like she just got there.
Adrian smirked. 'Such a lame move.'
Adrian had a hunch Alice's motives weren't pure, but now he thought she might really be tied up with Carlos.
Adrian told the guard to save that part of the video, left the security room, and pulled out his phone to make a call. "Keep tabs on Carlos. Let me know if he does anything. Also, dig into the companies and projects John’s been investing in the past few years and send me a list."
On the other end, Brice nodded. "Got it."
Even though John was Ruben's adopted son and lost an eye saving Ruben, Adrian knew John was into some shady stuff. But since it didn't mess with the Howard Family, they let it slide.
But if Alice was mixed up with John and Carlos, he wouldn't let any of them off the hook.
Adrian's eyes narrowed. Just then, his phone buzzed.
It was a message from Brice, with a prenatal check-up report from when Alice was pregnant.
Brice : [When Alice went for her check-ups, someone from the Howard Family always tagged along. I only went twice, but both times, I got stopped outside the exam room. By the time Alice came out, the check-up was done, and the doctor handed over the report. It seemed normal then, but now that I think about it, Alice always saw the same doctor. Maybe she just trusted that doc. But once, when my guy went with her, that doctor wasn't around. There was another famous doc in the same clinic, but Alice refused to see them. Looking back, it seems fishy.]
Refusing an exam by a top doc for a regular one, that was super weird.
Adrian: [Can you still find that doctor?]
Brice, being Adrian's go-to guy, had already checked.
Brice: [That doc got promoted after Alice's miscarriage, became an associate director, and moved to a hospital in Emberlyn. My people are already in Emberlyn, keeping an eye on the doc.]
