Chapter 1345 Treat This as a Commemoration
Elmer chuckled softly.
Rachel looked up and saw Elmer's smile, as pure and bright as fresh snow. For a moment, it felt like the sky had suddenly lit up.
She said honestly, "Elmer, you have a beautiful smile. You should smile more often."
Elmer was taken aback, and his smile faded.
He looked down at Rachel. Although he couldn't see her face clearly, he could see the pure and genuine smile on her lips.
Rachel felt a bit confused. It seemed like Elmer was suddenly unhappy. She received her prize, a card that entitled her to 365 free coffee orders.
"Hey, Elmer, this is for you," she said, handing him the card.
Elmer didn't take it. "You won it. You should keep it."
Rachel looked at him. She might be leaving soon. Her family might come looking for her any day now. Keeping the card wouldn't mean much to her. Since Elmer wouldn't take it, she put it in her pocket as a keepsake.
The people here had been pretty nice to her.
Elmer had been okay too.
But the servants in the villa were right; Elmer did have a strange personality.
Rachel finished her coffee.
"So, where are we going next? Do you have any night markets around here? Are they lively?"
"Yeah," Elmer replied, shielding his eyes from the sun.
Not far away, Jace saw what was happening and wanted to go over, but a man in black stopped him. "Jace, they're having fun. Let's not interrupt. Mr. Roach has his usual medication with him."
Jace nodded in agreement.
Elmer, besides being unable to see in the sunlight, would also get dizzy if he stayed out too long.
At that moment, Elmer's face turned pale. He took out a pillbox from his pocket, but his hand trembled, and the box fell to the ground.
Rachel bent down to pick it up. "Are you okay? Not feeling well?" She opened the box and handed him a pill. He took it and drank some water. "I'm fine. I just get uncomfortable if I'm in the sun too long."
Rachel noticed Elmer's face was a bit flushed. She reached out and touched his forehead.
It was slightly warm but within the normal range.
Her fingers were cool to the touch.
As she got closer, Elmer's pupils contracted.
He instinctively leaned back, trying to avoid her.
"You're not hot, no fever. How do you feel now after taking the medicine?"
"Eve, didn't you learn about personal space between girls and boys? Who said you could do that?"
"Aren't I your fiancée? What's wrong with you?" Rachel's eyes widened, then she burst out laughing, clutching her stomach.
"Oh my gosh, are you... are you shy? Seriously? I just thought you had a fever and touched your forehead, and you're shy? Wow, you're so innocent!"
Elmer closed his eyes, ignoring Rachel's teasing.
Not far away, Jace sighed in relief.
Isaac rarely instructed him to take Elmer out.
Usually, on sunny days like this, Elmer wouldn't ask to go out.
Only at night, under the moonlight, would Elmer go for a walk.
