Chapter 1202 No One Will Feel Sorry for Me

Behind her, the two maids seemed to be discussing something. Natalie walked a few steps before their voices faded away.

But she did catch two sentences from their conversation.

"Mr. Howard seems to be quite good to Mrs. Howard. Earlier, they said Mr. Howard had amnesia, and I thought he wouldn't remember Mrs. Howard."

"No matter how much he forgets, Mrs. Howard is still Mr. Howard's wife. They had a wedding, and she is his legitimate wife."

"This whole area of roses, I heard Ms. Lawson planted them with Mr. Howard when they were kids. Now they've all been uprooted and replaced with cherry blossom trees for Mrs. Howard. Doesn't that show Mr. Howard loves Mrs. Howard more?"

Natalie slightly turned her head and looked up at Adrian.

She gazed at Adrian's well-defined profile.

What did he mean by this?

Natalie didn't dare to guess.

In the afternoon, Natalie went to see Rachel.

In the living room, a young maid was preparing afternoon coffee. Seeing Natalie, she said, "Mrs. Howard, you're here. I've prepared cheese buns, mousse cake, and chickpeas. What would you like, Mrs. Howard? I've made a bit of everything."

"These are fine. Where's Rachel? Is she upstairs?"

Natalie went to the second floor and saw a maid standing at the bedroom door. When she saw Natalie, she looked as if she had seen a savior. "Mrs. Howard, please come and talk to Ms. Howard."

"What's wrong with Rachel?"

The maid bit her lip but still spoke, "Ms. Howard made a call to Mr. Lawson, and then she locked herself in the bedroom."

Natalie knocked on the door, and then something was thrown against it from inside, startling her and making her step back.

A voice came from inside, "Go away!"

The maid coughed and said, "Ms. Howard, it's Mrs. Howard."

After about three or four minutes, the door opened from the inside. Rachel's eyes were red, and she looked like she had just had a big cry and vented her emotions. She looked at Natalie and choked up, "Come in."

Natalie walked in.

Everything that could be smashed in the bedroom had been smashed.

The bedside lamp, books, even the blanket on the bed, and the water cup on the table were all on the floor.

Natalie watched Rachel walk in barefoot and frowned, "Be careful not to step on anything."

Hearing Natalie say this, the maid outside quickly came in to clean up.

Rachel sat on the edge of the bed, "So what if I step on something? No one cares about me anyway."

"Rachel," Natalie walked over, "I'm about to join a crew for a script reading in Suncrest City. Do you want to come with me? Just to get away for a bit. You can come as my assistant, though I won't need you to take care of me. Just come along and stay with the crew for a few days."

Rachel had never been to a film set before, and hearing Natalie say this, she was a bit curious.

"Can I?"

"Of course you can."

Rachel nodded. She really wanted to see it.

"Rachel, you have to remember, no matter what, your family will always worry about you. Your parents, Ruben, Adrian, and I will all worry about you. Don't let a little unhappiness bring you down."

Rachel sniffled, "I've liked Jamie for over ten years. Why does he keep rejecting me, not giving me even a glimmer of hope? He told me on the phone that if I kept bothering him, he would tell Ruben and move overseas."

"Can you believe that? He said I was bothering him! To avoid me, he's even been pretending to be sick and staying home from work these days."
