Chapter 130 Court

Natalie left the hospital and quickly arrived at Whispering Pines Community.

Based on her last experience, she called Jagger while knocking on the door of the Kamel Family. Instead of Jagger, it was his mother, Elodie, who opened the door. "Natalie, you're here."

"Mrs. Kamel, how about Jagger now?" Elodie sighed. "Jagger didn't sleep last night. He drank all night and just fell asleep now."

Natalie took a glance at the sleeping Jagger in the bedroom, then returned to the living room, where Elodie handed her a sliced apple. "This incident is so unexpected. Although Jagger wasn't the lead surgeon, he had prepared for this surgery for a long time. There shouldn't have been any issues. The patient's family is causing trouble now, and Jagger has been temporarily suspended. He is supposed to be up for promotion by the end of the year. Once he submits his paper, everything should be fine. No one expected this to happen at this time."

"Mrs. Kamel, don't worry, he will be fine." Natalie reassured.

Elodie sighed. "You don't understand. The patient's family is very influential. This incident has hit Jagger hard. Dorian contacted the hospital director, who said they were handling Jagger's case very seriously. The patient's family has even taken the matter to court."

Natalie also became nervous. "Court? How could this happen?"

Elodie wiped away tears. "I have only one son, Jagger. He has always been outstanding since he was young, handling everything so well. He has performed many surgeries like this without any issues. Dorian says I'm overthinking it, but I just feel like someone did this intentionally." Elodie choked up as she spoke.

"Mrs. Kamel." Natalie didn't know how to comfort Elodie, and she glanced in the direction of Jagger's bedroom.

She knew he rarely drank, almost never, only occasionally at gatherings. But last night, he got drunk. This predicament ought to evoke profound discomfort for him.

Later, Dorian returned and was surprised to see Natalie. "Natalie is here." he glanced at Elodie, "Go to wake Jagger up. He's been sleeping all morning. Don't let Natalie wait for him."

Natalie said, "It's okay, let him rest."

"How is it? How is the hospital handling things? When will Jagger clear his name? When can he return to work? Can he still be considered for promotion at the end of the year?" Elodie hurriedly asked Dorian.

Dorian sighed, sat on the couch, and took a few sips of water. "You know, since I was transferred, I haven't had much contact with friends at Sunset Valley Hospital. I asked Director Kroger, and she said the situation is a bit complicated."

Elodie became anxious. "Why? It's normal for surgeries to have complications. Not every surgery is absolutely successful."

"You don't understand that family has some prestige and power. The hospital has been in turmoil for several days now. Jagger's suspension is already a good outcome. I fear Jagger might be taken to court. The family has already filed a lawsuit against Jagger for premeditated murder."

"These people are outrageous."Elodie exclaimed.

At that moment, the bedroom door opened, and Jagger walked out.

In Natalie's memory, Jagger had always been a sunny, gentle, and handsome man. But now, with stubble on his chin and the smell of alcohol, he seemed like a different person.

He looked at Natalie, his eyes seeming to avoid hers, and smiled at her. "Why are you here? Wait for me here, and I'll freshen up and then take you back."

"Jagger." Natalie wanted to say it wasn't necessary, but before she could finish her words, Jagger had already returned to his room.

He came out shortly after, as if nothing had happened, and said to her, "Let's go."
