Chapter 980 Doing One's Utmost

Jerry was floored. "Wait, what did you just say?"

"I've already given Rosalie two chances. Two kidney transplants, both times I found the doctors, the donors, and paid for everything. She took the life that should've been mine. I've done more than enough for her. Would it really be righteous if I refuse visiting her in the hospital?" Natalie sneered, her delicate face cold as she hung up.

On the other end, Jerry was in shock, thinking, 'Did Natalie just say she's not Rosalie's real daughter? How's that possible? And what did she mean when she said Rosalie stole her life?'

Jerry sat by Rosalie's hospital bed, looking at her. "Rosalie, what happened? Why would Natalie say something like that?"

When he tried calling Natalie again, he found out she had blocked him.

Jerry didn't want to drag Natalie into the media mess. He sighed, not understanding the issues between Natalie and Rosalie. Luckily, Rosalie had some savings, and Jerry had saved up enough to cover the medical bills.

He just hoped Rosalie would pull through.

Meanwhile, the police had started investigating. Who had gone to Rosalie's house? Who was the one that left her in a vegetative state?

After hanging up, Natalie also wondered who would want to harm Rosalie.

Jerry had said the police believed it was a deliberate attack from behind. So, it had to be someone Rosalie knew. It could only be a few from the Cullen family.

Natalie pointed the finger at Avery, thinking, 'Avery is the most suspicious one here. But this has nothing to do with me anymore. Avery cast a dark shadow over my childhood, and Rosalie stole 24 years of my life. I hate both of them!'

Filming went on until Saturday.

Natalie's crew took two days off every week, just like a regular job.

On Saturday, Natalie flew back to Vachilit because Curtis had called to invite her to his birthday celebration in a private room that evening.

Natalie knew she'd run into Avery and Alice there, but it was Avery and Alice who should feel guilty, not her, so she didn't refuse.

She wasn't the old Natalie anymore, naive and innocent, working multiple jobs to save money for her so-called mother's medical bills and kidney transplants.

She arrived in Vachilit in the morning.

Curtis's birthday celebration was in the evening.

Natalie didn't go straight back to her apartment but had Derek drive her to the Howard Corporation Building.

Seeing Derek take out his phone, Natalie immediately said, "Don't tell Adrian!"

She wanted to surprise Adrian.

Derek got it.

Natalie said, "You can take a few hours off now. Pick me up at 6 PM. I'll give you the address."

"Okay, Ms. Teeger. Have a good time with Mr. Howard." Derek smiled.

As Natalie got out of the car, she leaned on the door, "You too. Have a good time with your girlfriend."

Derek chuckled, his handsome face carrying a hint of roguish charm, his buzz cut adding to his wild aura. "Nothing gets past Ms. Teeger."
