Chapter 1331 Beatrix is Saved
Beatrix had been kidnapped along with Rachel, and now Rachel was temporarily safe. But she had no idea what had happened to Beatrix. Was she going to be sold off to some dangerous place?
First things first, Rachel needed to find Beatrix.
Isaac frowned, surprised that Rachel would make such a request. He looked at Rachel, realizing that this girl was surprisingly loyal.
"I can help you find out where your friend is. If she hasn't been picked by someone else, I can buy her. But I won't bring her here, you understand?"
Rachel nodded. She understood.
Isaac wanted her to stay in Emberfall City without any familiar faces around.
She gritted her teeth. "Fine, as long as you ensure my friend Beatrix's safety, I'll agree to your terms."
She trusted the Howard family's influence would eventually find her; it was just a matter of time.
"Alright, I'll get in touch right away."
Isaac was a man of his word. He promised Rachel and by the afternoon, he had already started working on it. Based on Rachel's description, he found Beatrix. She was a plain but pretty girl who hadn't been picked yet.
The kidnappers hadn't found a buyer for her. Isaac offered to pay for Beatrix's release, and they agreed to send her to Emberfall City.
Isaac sent his men to handle the pickup.
Beatrix was locked up in a warehouse.
She was held with several other young women.
Their mouths were taped shut, and their hands and feet were bound. Every night, someone would come by and throw them a few bottles of milk to keep them from starving, but they were weak.
Fear and terror were etched on everyone's faces. The kidnappers would come by to take photos, probably to pick out the pretty ones to be taken away, leaving the average ones behind to be sold at a lower price.
A girl next to her kept crying, and Beatrix felt equally hopeless.
That evening, the door opened again. A man walked in, holding a phone and comparing faces. He stopped in front of Beatrix. "It's you."
Two burly men took Beatrix away. She struggled and whimpered.
But it was useless. She had no idea what lay ahead.
She thought of Rachel, Natalie, and Heather. She thought of her parents. Would she ever see them again?
Her eyes were covered, and she was thrown onto a boat.
The boat started moving.
It sailed through the night. Beatrix got seasick, feeling dizzy and hungry.
She could faintly hear two men talking outside.
"Where should we drop this woman?"
"Just dump her when we dock. Leave her a phone."
"She doesn't have a phone. Just leave her."
"A living person, we don't need to worry. Our job is to drop her off when we dock."
They reached the shore.
It was 1 AM.
Beatrix's face was covered with a black hood.
She was taken off the boat, and the two men left. Beatrix stared into the darkness, struggling, and suddenly realized the rope around her wrists had loosened.
Beatrix quickly removed the black hood from her face.
Her vision cleared instantly.
She was at a port.
It was late, so there weren't many people around.
The kidnappers were gone.
Beatrix was confused. Had they really let her go?
Why would they be so kind?
She didn't have time to think. She immediately ran towards the city.
