Chapter 534 Conditions

Natalie had just dipped her toes into the entertainment biz and was still trying to get her bearings. Charlotte, on the other hand, wasn't a famous actress but had some clout and a few notable gigs under her belt. She even snagged a Best Supporting Actress award, which was a big deal for her career. From her debut till now, she’d been climbing the ladder steadily. Natalie grabbed her coffee and said, "Hey, if you ever need anything, just hit me up."

Charlotte was sharp, and their chat was pretty chill.

It was widely known that no one could make it in showbiz without some solid connections.

Having one more friend meant having one more ally.

The two of them strolled out of the café. Charlotte had a shoot in the afternoon, so she bounced first. Natalie was about to head out too when she saw Heather coming her way. Natalie walked over and asked, "Heather, what's up?"

Heather replied, "Natalie, there's a lady named Avery looking for you. She's waiting in the lounge."

Natalie's eyes darkened a bit as she made her way to the lounge.

In the lounge, Avery checked her watch. She'd been there for half an hour. Natalie had the nerve to make her wait that long!

She kept her cool and waited another five minutes.

Finally, the lounge door swung open, and Natalie walked in, looking totally unbothered. She figured this was probably about Alice.

Natalie sat across from her with a cold vibe. "Mrs. Cullen, what brings you here?"

Avery frowned. "Natalie, what's that attitude?"

"What's wrong with my attitude?" Natalie asked, genuinely confused.

Heather hadn't left. At first, she didn't know who Avery was, but seeing her all dressed up, she didn't dare to ignore her. Now, listening to their convo, Heather realized this must be Alice's mom.

There was apparently only one thing left on the table which could explain why Alice's mom was here. She must be here for Alice's bad press.

Natalie smirked. "Mrs. Cullen, you should feel lucky that you came here today, where I happened to while away my hours off work this morning. Otherwise, wouldn't you have made a wasted trip?"

Avery slammed the table. "Natalie, I've waited for you for 35 minutes. And you're here to tell me I'm lucky to run into you?"

The last trace of a smile vanished from Natalie's face. She turned to Heather and said, "Heather, get your phone out and record Mrs. Cullen's tantrum. Post it on Facebook so everyone can see what attitude Alice's mom brought here with her to ask me for a favor!"

Heather immediately pulled out her phone and started recording Avery.

Avery's eyes flickered, like she wanted to blow up but was scared the video would actually get posted. She hadn't expected Natalie to be such a tough nut to crack.

Avery quickly reconsidered. "Natalie, this thing has blown up. I'm sure you don't want it to get any worse. How about we each take a step back?"

Natalie raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

Avery said, "You post on Facebook that you and Alice are good friends, and that Alice's insults were just a joke, nothing serious."

Natalie smiled faintly. "Good friends? Mrs. Cullen, you really know how to joke."

Avery then sweetened the deal. "I know a top nephrology expert. If you're willing to calm things down online, I can introduce him to your mother. Even though your mom's kidney transplant turned out to be a great success, she needs ongoing treatment to extend her life."
