Chapter 309 Avery's Plan
Alice was gearing up to break into the entertainment world, and Dynamic Entertainment had everything set for her.
With the title of Mrs. Howard and carrying the Howard family's baby, the industry folks naturally gravitated towards her.
She had less than four months before giving birth, so everything had to wait until she recovered post-delivery.
Right now, her biggest worry was the baby.
This baby was precious but also a ticking time bomb.
If she couldn't hide the truth from the Howard family, she'd be exposed when the baby was born.
If that happened, she could forget about ever becoming Adrian's wife—Adrian might not even spare her a second glance.
After six months with Adrian, Alice knew he hated deception the most.
She touched her belly, feeling more anxious by the minute, not even hearing Karen talking to her.
Karen, her agent, had secured a lot of resources. Being Adrian's fiancée boosted Karen's status too. She had a mobile business deal to discuss.
Karen said, "Alice, our commercial shoot is this afternoon. The contract's ready, just needs your signature."
The commercial didn't pay much, but Alice didn't care about the money. It was a chance for exposure, and her ad would spread nationwide.
Alice nodded. "Got it, you handle it."
Karen replied, "Okay, Alice."
That evening, Alice went home and headed to Avery's study.
Alice asked, "Mom, what should I do about the baby?"
Avery was painting and looked up. Seeing Alice's panic, she thought Alice was really useless. "Don't panic. It's only been six months; you still have three more."
Alice was nervous. "Mom, I can't wait. I can't really give birth to it, can I?"
"Well, it's not entirely out of the question," Avery said, finishing her painting and putting down the brush.
Alice walked over quickly. "Mom, you know Adrian's people are always with me during check-ups. If it weren't for Carlos, I'd be exposed."
Avery poked Alice's forehead, saying, "What are you afraid of, Alice? Just stay calm and wait to become Mrs. Howard. If you can't have the baby, you'll need an abortion, but not now."
Alice asked, "Mom, when then? This baby is a ticking time bomb."
"Is this Carlos's baby?" Avery squinted.
Alice nodded, not hiding it anymore. She must get rid of it, and three months would fly by.
Avery knew about the Howard family's butler, John. Though just a butler, he was Ruben's adopted son. Unfortunately, just an adopted son.
Avery said, "Alice, don't be anxious."
But Alice was anxious. She looked at Avery's calm demeanor and gritted her teeth. "Mom."
"Alice, you're all I have now. Your father is completely focused on that witch Rosalie." Avery clenched her fists. Since their last argument, Curtis rarely came home. When he did, it was just to grab some documents.
She had someone keep an eye on Curtis, but his people found out and sent them back.
