Chapter 480 The Chopped Cherry Blossom Tree

Amy was totally thrown off. Since when did Natalie and Alice start getting along? Outsiders might be clueless, but those of them working for the Cullen family knew the score. Natalie and Alice were like oil and water, especially Alice, who used to go out of her way to make Natalie's life hell.

Amy gave Natalie a once-over, feeling like something was off about her.

But she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Natalie just seemed... different.

Amy said, "Ms. Cullen's in the conservatory. Why don't you chill in the living room for a bit?"

Natalie strolled into the living room. "Is Avery around?"

Amy replied, "Mrs. Cullen's out for coffee."

Natalie walked in but didn't sit. She took off her sunglasses and casually scoped out the place. She knew this house like the back of her hand; she practically grew up here.

Amy headed to the conservatory to find Alice, but she was nowhere to be found.

Natalie wandered to the back balcony and opened the door to the little house she used to live in.

The door was just as she remembered, and so was everything else.

She walked over and pushed it open.

The once tidy yard was now a jungle of weeds. She bent down and yanked a few out. When she looked up, she was stunned.

The yard looked different from what she remembered.

The cherry blossom tree that had stood for over a decade was gone, just a stump left.

It felt like a piece of her past had been stirred up. She sighed softly.

She walked up to the stump and looked at the rings on it.

"Natalie, who let you in here? Should I call the cops and report you for trespassing?"

Natalie didn't turn around; she knew that snarky voice belonged to Renee.

She just said quietly, "Go ahead, call the cops."

Of course, Renee wasn't gonna call the cops; she just wanted to mess with Natalie.

Renee didn't know if it was because she was getting older or her body wasn't healing right, but her foot injury hadn't improved. Every time she saw Natalie, her foot throbbed. Standing on the second-floor balcony, she got even more sarcastic. "Living in such a dump, no matter how fancy your clothes are, they can't hide your poverty. Like mother, like daughter. Seeing you this early in the morning is really bad luck."

Natalie didn't know why, but she suddenly smiled. She turned to look at Renee. "You're right, like mother, like daughter."

The morning sun brought a bit of warmth, but Renee felt a chilling sharpness in Natalie's gaze, making her shut up. She turned and waddled downstairs to find Alice and complain.

After searching around and still not finding Alice, Renee pulled out her phone and called her. "Ms. Cullen, where are you?"

Alice sounded busy on the other end. "Don't call me unless it's important!"

She snapped and hung up. Renee looked around downstairs. Alice had trouble walking and was in a wheelchair; how could she just vanish?

She asked Amy, "Where's Ms. Cullen?"

Amy shrugged. "Ms. Cullen said she was going to the conservatory, but she's not there."

In just half an hour, how could Alice disappear?

Meanwhile, in the underground garage.

Outside a black Mercedes sedan, there was a black wheelchair.

The car door was half-open, and the sound of a woman's moans came from inside.

The car was shaking violently from the actions of the man and woman inside.
